Department: University LifeClassification: GMU WorkerJob Category: Part-Time / Hourly WageJob Type: Part-TimeWork Schedule: 10 - 20 hours per weekLocation: Fairfax, VAWorkplace Type: Hybrid EligibleSalary: $16-$20 per hour; commensurate with experienceCriminal Background Check: YesAbout the Department:University Life Marketing and Communications (UL MarCom) proactively supports the units of University Life in achieving their missions to help every student succeed by facilitating outreach to the Mason community in an authentic, clear, and organized manner while providing insight into the behavior, interests, and needs of a diverse student population through research and data analysis.About the Position:The Videographer will work as part of a team comprised of marketing and communications professionals and reports to the Associate Director of Marketing and Communications within UL Marketing and Communications.Responsibilities:• Capture high quality and relevant video content at University Life campus events, on and off campus;• Edit video content and create videos from start to finish;• Create motion graphics and animations that will live within the videos;• Assist with photography/editing needs when necessary;• Create video vault for University Life marketing purposes – University wide events, important events/resources for students and the community; and• The Videographer position is designed for 10 - 20 hours per week. At times, the work may require extended hours and/or night and weekend work hours.• Experience with video/photography editing software, including Adobe Creative Suite, Adobe Premiere, and Final Cut Pro;• Direct experience with video production, including filming, editing, script writing, and storyboards;• Experience with Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel and Power Point);• Demonstrated skills in the following areas: oral and written communication, organization, problem-solving, and interpersonal;• Ability to accurately and efficiently meet deadlines for responsibilities;• Demonstrated commitment to diversity and ability to work within diverse populations; ability to work in a team-oriented environment; and• Must be able to provide a video portfolio or samples (online).Preferred Qualifications:• Experience with photo & video editing techniques.Instructions to Applicants:For full consideration, applicants must apply for Videographer at https://jobs.gmu.edu/.
