This role is an opportunity to build, grow and lead Flexport's highly impactful customer marketing and communications program. You will own a portfolio of key initiatives end-to-end to bring the stories and experiences of Flexport's customers to life. You will develop an in-depth understanding of Flexport's products and help share how our tech-enabled solutions power the growth and innovation of our customers around the world. You'll be part of the small but mighty External Communications team, and partner with leaders across Marketing, Sales, Technology, Operations and the Executive Team to drive one of our most important and visible programs.

You will:

  • Own goals and strategy across a portfolio of key initiatives, such as launching Flexport's first ever Customer Advisory Board (CAB), establishing Flexport's customer reference program to drive sales conversion, sourcing and developing case studies, and more.
  • Uncover successful customer stories and work cross-functionally across Marketing to bring these stories to life in compelling ways through videos, blogs, social snippets, brand campaigns, and external speaking events and conferences
  • Scale our existing Customer Reference Program and build new workflows and channels to identify, recruit, track, and enable customers to share their stories and partner with Sales, Product, and Marketing to drive program adoption and impact
  • Identify and match key customer stories with priority opportunities such as speaking engagements at conferences, press, and product partnerships to enable Marketing, Product, and Sales
  • Partner with Marketing Operations and Analytics to build a best-in-class reporting practice to measure ROI and impact of key customer marketing and communications initiatives

You should have:

  • A BA/BS or equivalent degree.
  • 3-5+ years of experience working with external customers and hands-on experience running a case study/customer storytelling/customer advocacy program
  • Direct experience working with global and regional sales teams to develop content to fit growth goals
  • Strong understanding of what makes a good customer success story and a track record of identifying interesting case studies and telling them in unique and compelling ways
  • Lots of experience managing budgets, workflows and results in tools like Excel/Google Sheets and Salesforce
  • Deep curiosity to become an expert on the customer – understanding their behaviors, motivations, blockers, and goals and weaves this into effective choices and execution – and enjoys educating others on the customer's perspective
  • Executive presence, with strong verbal and written communication skills
  • A "compliance first" attitude to keep our regulators happy and enthusiastic about Flexport since we operate in a heavily regulated industry.

The range displayed on each job posting reflects the minimum and maximum target for new hire salaries for the position across all US locations. Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. Within the range displayed, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education and / or training.

The US base salary range for this full-time position: (exclusive of bonus, equity and benefits.)

$90,000—$105,000 USD
