The Team:

The dashboard teams own the interfaces where customers get to visualize and explore their systems. They build, scale, and operate beautiful, high-performance, programmable user interfaces. The team is responsible for the user interfaces, APIs and storage systems. We use React, Typescript, Python, Postgres.

 

The Opportunity:

As an Engineering Manager, you will guide and expand 2-3 teams that build Dashboards. You will lead the teams to excel in delivering new features, easy-to-use for new users and powerful for advanced ones. You will learn how creative customers can be, while making the best decisions to enable them to do even more. You will drive our continuous transformation into a platform, with the objective to become the to-go place to build new Datadog products.

 

You Will:

  • Manage both managers and senior individual contributors, grow teams of exceptional engineers, ensuring they deliver high quality, timely work and that they’re happy, motivated, and growing
  • Own meaningful parts of our user interfaces, with an eye to performance and user experience
  • Work with teams across Datadog to ensure we are supporting their existing product needs and to make sure we understand what additional needs teams expect to have in the future
  • Drive the technical direction and implementation of the products you oversee

 

You Are:

  • You have significant experience with product development
  • You have experience owning a product and being on-call for it
  • You have previously managed managers
  • You enjoy scaling teams
  • You have experience working with other teams to deliver projects

 

Bonus Points:

  • You are passionate about great UX
  • You have owned backend services and APIs for a large product
  • You have extensive experience monitoring performance in the frontend and backend
