Position Overview:
As part of the Global Payroll department, the Payroll Manager serves as the firm’s subject matter expert for payroll processing in the US region as well as assisting with payroll and reporting in other foreign regions as needed.
Responsibilities:

Manage the processing of in-house, biweekly payrolls for both salary and hourly employees in a multi-state environment for approximately 800 plus employees

Manage a small team of US based and possibly international payroll professionals

Calculate overpayments or retroactive payments related to salary, overtime, or a change in benefits status

Providing prompt and complete responses to employees and vendors on payroll-related questions

Work closely with Treasury Department to forecast cash requirements to fund payrolls and ensure payroll funding is executed to payroll vendors and employees on time

Assist in the reconciliation of U.S. W-2s and other year-end reporting information

Assist Accounting colleagues with questions related to payroll journal entries and account reconciliations

Work closely with Human Resource colleagues for employee related items such as new hire & termination process, 401K, ESPP, benefits, etc.

Assist in bonus calculations, 401k match calculation, benefits accounting and trend reporting and other payroll related processes, as required

Assist with equity-based compensation (awards and ESPP) administration and reporting

Maintain configurations in ADP for taxes, earnings, deductions, general ledger mapping

Collaborate with Human Resources and other functional areas to identify, suggest and implement process improvements to increase accuracy and efficiency

Federal and State employment and payroll taxes

Notify management of errors and problems, proposes solutions, and work with management to implement solutions that balance the interest of employee and firm

Monitor, assess, and implement internal controls, accounting/reporting procedures, and special report preparation related to payroll operations

Manage and assist in the various payroll and benefit audits (401k, etc.)

Develop a standard global payroll reporting process

Assist in confidential projects including M&A activities

Ad hoc reporting

Payroll and benefits integration
Qualifications:

Candidates must have strong, polished communication skills, a strong desire to deliver impeccable customer service, and must be able to interact professionally with all levels of the organization

Candidates will also have strong attention to detail, basic project management skills, and the ability to multi-task

Ability to perform detailed tasks, self-starter and willingness to “roll-up their sleeves”

Must be able to prioritize assignments with competing deadlines, analyze complex problems and work independently at times

Bachelor’s degree preferred

Practical, hands-on Payroll processing experience, preferably across multiple jurisdictions/countries
-
Proven ability to multi-task and work in a challenging fast paced environment

Experience with Payroll-related systems (ADP, Equity Edge, Fidelity PSW, etc.)
-
Customer service orientation and ability to communicate with various levels of management
-
Excellent problem solving/judgment skills, and high level of attention to detail and accuracy

Comfortable working in an environment that has seasonal peaks and calendar year-end deliverables

Ten plus years of payroll work experience
Skills

Experience with ADP is a must.
