Manager, Financial Reporting

About your role

Our Financial Reporting team is responsible for preparing financial reports in accordance with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP). You will build processes and train a fast-growing team that provides best in class customer service. We are looking for a strong systems thinker & people leader who is eager to be in a fast-paced, team-based environment and act as a player/coach. This role will involve a combination of direct customer-facing work, process creation and team leadership.

What you’ll do

  • Prepare financial statements for our fund clients, including providing relevant support to clients and external auditors as needed

  • Create, build and improve our financial statement templates. Maintain and update a template library for use by all team members

  • Train and lead a team of financial reporting specialists

  • Collaborate with fund accounting to optimize processes and handoffs

  • Handle challenging customer situations and improve customer satisfaction

  • Review team deliverables for accuracy and ensure SLAs are being met

  • Build systems and process to ensure we are tracking important team and customer data

Qualifications

  • 8-10 years of experience in fund accounting including experience in financial reporting; at least 1 year of people manager or team lead experience

  • Experience with GAAP is a must; IFRS is a plus

  • Located in Canada

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills

  • High level of integrity and desire to consistently do the right thing for our customers and for the business

  • Ability to be a self-starter: you identify problems and take ownership of finding and implementing solutions

  • Highly flexible and adaptable to change; ability to handle multiple projects at once while staying close to the details
