  • The Manager, Medical Affairs is responsible for management of global medical operations programs across Varian Interventional Solutions (VIS). Varian Medical Systems is now part of the Siemens Healthineers group of companies and this role is focused on leveraging the strengths of both organizations, refining medical operational strategy to accelerate and facilitate key opinion leader input, collection and analysis of medical information, and increasing operational efficiency of medical standard operating procedures.
  • Job Description
    • Lead projects to assess organizational needs, capacity management practices, identify gaps, and propose new processes and tools to improve planning and organizational effectiveness
    • Manage customer relationships from the medical affairs perspective
    • Provide oversight and contribute to the scientific development of critical medical programs which drive our understanding of customer and market needs, such as strategic cooperatives and advisory boards, as well as business development activities, as requested
    • Support Medical Affairs leadership team and our Finance partners in annual budget planning, forecasting, tracking, and resource prioritization
    • Provide oversight, management and tracking of the VIS Investigator Initiated Study (IIS) program and support Field Medical on proposals submitted,
    • Facilitate and lead planning for congress submissions, publications etc on clinical data as needed
    • Provide support in facilitating timely execution of contracts for medical affairs procedures such as advisory boards, IIS etc
    • Collaborate with teams internally to optimize use of KOL Mapping, bringing clarity to our internal management of key leaders in the interventional field
    • Work with internal stakeholders and customers from an operational perspective to ensure seamless alignment of the Medical Strategy within Interventional Solutions and overall corporate strategy
    • Collaborate and share with Clinical, R&D, Market Access, Sales and Marketing ideas to overcome challenges and maximize opportunities
Qualifications
  • Minimum of 5 – 10 years of experience in life science industry-based medical affairs roles
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills, with experience in medical writing
  • Knowledge/experience of interventional radiology medical imaging highly desirable
  • Clinical experience beneficial, direct experience in the therapeutic area highly desirable
  • Knowledge of national / regional regulations and industry standards regarding interactions with healthcare professionals
  • Self-motivated, autonomous, accountability and ability to meet KPIs
  • Wide-ranging experience, uses professional concepts and company objectives to resolve complex issues in creative and effective ways
  • Familiarity with Microsoft Office software essential, experience utilizing customer management software desired

The base pay range for this position is
Min $123,000 - Max $221,400
The pay wage range shown is based on the job posting's primary location. Actual compensation packages are based on a wide array of factors, including but not limited to skill set, experience, certifications, and location.
