The University System of Georgia (USG) is comprised of 26 higher education institutions as well as the University System Office (USO). Within the USO, our administrative operations are primarily housed in the Trinity Washington Building located in downtown Atlanta. Our Information Technology Services (ITS) division is located in Athens. The University System of Georgia Shared Services Center (SSC) is located in Sandersville. The Georgia Public Library System is located in Atlanta. The Georgia Archives is located in Morrow. The State of Georgia Records Center is located in Austell.
Under the supervision of the Executive Director, the manager coordinates the administrative operation of the state's public library facilities program. Assist Executive Director in the development and implementation of sound facility planning and cnstruction programs for public libraries and archive facilities throughout the state of Georgia.
Educational Requirements
Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Architecture, Construction Management, Engineering, or related fields
Other Required Qualifications
To perform this job successfully an individual must have knowledge of the Internet software, MS Outlook; Word and Excel, as well as, skilled in using numbers to calculate payments and in the use of grammatical standards.
Required Experience
2 - 5 years experience in the AEC industry.
Preferred Experience
Project Management - Develops project plans; Coordinates projects; Communicates changes and progress; Completes projects on time and budget; Manages project team activities.
ABILITIES
Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.
KNOWLEDGE
Oversee the administrative services component for public library construction programs and grants.
Assist in analyzing and maintaining budget estimates and offer cost saving opportunities.
Prepare data reports that monitor progress of construction projects.
Prepare presentation materials and reports for management and others as requested.
Understand the basic project management principles.
Attend construction meetings and assist as needed.
Reviews status reports from projects and modifies schedules and plans as required.
Maintain a working knowledge of state and agency rules, regulations, and policies.
SKILLS
