As a Manager, Rights Management & Analysis you will perform legal analysis and manage the process of accurate review and rights management entry. These actions require an in-depth knowledge of complex media rights, review of license terms, and problem-solving skills, all within a quick turnaround time. Given the high volume of documentation and the constant technological developments in the media industry, an ability to understand diverse contractual definitions & being detail oriented is a vital characteristic for the candidate in this position. The position interacts and provides critical support to multiple departments within the company.
Review and analyze key provisions for variety of agreements (programming, production, sales, talent, 3rd party contracts & etc.) and manage the process of rights entry of Agreements across all AMCN businesses to ensure quality data entry.
Verify and ensure that information has been accurately captured and updated by Coordinators/Contract Administrator in their data entry responsibilities.
Assist in Rights analysis to support new business development.
Provide management with rights availability reports, perform rights research, complete ad hoc projects, and customize reports as needed by International, Legal, Finance, Scheduling and Program Sales divisions.
Work with the various teams across the organization to address any issues and promptly report resolutions to all appropriate parties.
Contribute ideas and suggestions on how to improve system processes and recommend/track requests for enhancements.
Experience/Qualifications
4 to 5 years’ prior experience working at a television network, cable network, film studio, television distribution company, a law firm or similar business that specializes in entertainment/media transactions.
Minimum of 2 years supervisory experience.
Superior knowledge of multiplatform media rights and experience reviewing and interpreting complex Agreements.
Media rights database experience with FilmTrack, RightsLogic and/or RightsLine.
Candidate must have highly developed analytical skills.
Proficient in all aspects of MS Office.
Must be detail oriented.
Have the ability to work independently as well as within a team environment.
The position is service-oriented, so excellent interpersonal communication skills are necessary as is an ability to discuss reports, data, and issues with individuals at all levels of company.
The base compensation range for this position is $90,000 to $105,000 commensurate with experience.
