Our client in the food and beverage industry is seeking a skilled Technical Writer to join their growing team. As a Technical Writer, you will play a vital role in the Documentation Department, supporting the creation and maintenance of essential Preventative Maintenance (PM) procedures. The ideal candidate will be a detail-oriented individual with excellent communication skills and a passion for... clear and concise writing.
Job Title: Technical Writer
Location: Jacksonville, IL
Pay Range: $ 20-22/hr
What’s the Job?
• Develop and maintain user-friendly documentation, primarily focused on creating Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) for Preventative Maintenance tasks.
• Collaborate with subject matter experts like maintenance technicians, supervisors, and engineers to understand complex technical concepts and translate them into easy-to-follow instructions.
• Observe processes firsthand to gather accurate information and validate procedure details.
• Review and edit existing documentation to ensure clarity, consistency, and adherence to company standards.
• Ensure all technical content aligns with industry best practices and guidelines.
What’s Needed?
• Strong computer skills with experience using SAP a plus.
• Basic understanding of mechanical and electrical systems in an industrial environment. Prior experience in a skilled maintenance role is preferred.
• Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and identify components.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills with a knack for explaining complex topics simply.
• Meticulous attention to detail and strong organizational abilities.
• High school diploma or equivalent required.
