SUMMARY
Performs a variety of functions related to the manufacturing of wire and cable products. Manufacturing Associate I is an entry level associate who has little or no previous experience working in a manufacturing environment.
Responsibilities
- Understand, translate, process work orders and other production documents.
- Operate multiple production lines, adhering to standard work and quality guidelines.
- Perform detailed quality assurance inspections to ensure product meets customers specifications.
- Troubleshoot production machines to ensuring calibration and machinery meets requirements.
- Utilize testing equipment when necessary – ovens, micrometers, and magnifying equipment.
- Handle bare product, raw materials and finished goods by means of loading and unload spools and/or drums.
- Maintain a clean and safe workspace by practicing proper 5S techniques.
- Other duties may be assigned
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
- Mathematical skills – Addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division skills, using all units of measure (whole numbers, fractions, and decimals). Successfully pass application mathematics examination.
- Ability to track and record production results and follow priorities to ensure on-time completion of tasks.
- Good vision and eye-hand coordination.
- Ability to use production tools and equipment.
- Performs all tasks in a safe and efficient manner to protect one’s self, others, products, materials and other company assets from harm.
- Operates with a high degree of integrity in the performance of duties to foster good working relationships, develop a spirit of teamwork, and accomplish job goals
- Must be able to detect and respond to audible or visual alarms for building evacuation and shelter-in-place and moving equipment.
- Must be able to detect and respond to audible or visual equipment alarms and other notices associated with product problems in order to avoid scrap.
WORK ENVIRONMENT
Carlisle Interconnect Technologies is a clean facility, housing different machinery, equipment, processes, and chemicals which produce potential hazards in the work environment such as: ergonomic, chemical, machine point of operation, and powered industrial vehicle traffic. These hazards are controlled through means of engineering controls, such as machine guarding, and administrative controls, such as safety policies and programs. In certain areas of the facility, employees are required to wear Personal Protective equipment such as Hearing Protection, Safety Glasses, Safety Toe Shoes, and hand protection.
PERSONAL PROTECTIVE EQUIPMENT REQUIREMENTS
- ASTM F–2412–2005, ANSI Z41–1999, or ANSI Z41–1991 rated safety toed shoes
- Clear ANSI Z87.1 safety rated glasses
- Hearing protection, in specific locations
- Ability to compile with JSA in specific areas

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred. Relevant experience may be substituted for education.
