The Grantmaking Coordinator supports the day-to-day operations and workflows of Marguerite Casey

Foundation’s (the “Foundation”) grantmaking efforts, working with the Director of Philanthropic Initiatives

and the Director of Community Grants. They execute processes related to the lifecycle of its grantmaking

verticals, collect and manage grantmaking data, and provide administrative support, including virtual and

in-person meeting and logistical support for grantmaking events. This position is a point of contact for grant

applicants, grant recipients, and other stakeholders within the grantmaking sphere and positively influences

their interactions with the Foundation.


The Grantmaking Coordinator is someone we can count on to ensure deadlines are met, grantmaking

materials are accurate and effective, and that key information and expectations are communicated to the

grantmaking team and throughout the organization. This full-time position is based remotely. It reports to

the Director of Philanthropic Initiatives and is non-exempt under the Federal Fair Labor Standards Act.

What You Can Expect:
  • To coordinate and track core grantmaking lifecycle processes, working closely with the Director of Philanthropic Initiatives and the Director of Community Grants, to ensure smooth and efficient operations and great communication with grant applicants, grant recipients, and other stakeholders.
  • To partner across internal teams, including Operations and External Affairs, to execute MCF Book Clubs logistics and other grantmaking meetings and events and compliant grants management.
  • To collect, maintain, and organize data and information related to Community Grants and Philanthropic Initiatives.
  • To provide administrative support to two grantmaking directors, including travel arrangements, external meeting organization and staffing.
  • Space for learning, including gaining experience and deepening skills in cross-team project management and operations.
  • A collaborative and supportive virtual work environment.


You should consider applying if you:
  • Have at least 4 years in a non-profit/501c3 organization in a junior operations or administrative role.
  • Bonus if you’ve spent 1-2 years working within a philanthropic organization, with a basic understanding of grantmaking and management.
  • Hold a service orientation, love operations and making processes stronger, and you are known for your ability to balance taking initiative and being a part of a team.
  • Have planned high-stakes virtual and in-person events.
  • Are able to prioritize competing demands for your time, stay organized, meet deadlines, and be flexible. You have experience managing others to deadlines and in project management, too.
  • Find that research and data entry and management are your jam. You may have worked in a grantmaking database before.
  • Have scheduled group meetings and booked travel for others in previous roles.
  • Are a whiz with Google Suite and Zoom. You’re comfortable with the technical aspects of hosting a Zoom with external constituents and you’ve developed and managed easy ways to manage information and data via Google products.
  • Are comfortable handling and managing confidential information with discretion and tact.
  • Enjoy interacting and communicating effectively with various stakeholders verbally and in writing.
  • Have worked remotely before.
  • Are committed to the Foundation’s mission and values of belonging & representation, mutual respect, and trust.


Working Conditions:
  • Remote Work - This position is open to candidates nationally and across time zones.
  • Physical Requirements -
  • Occasional lifting and carrying of objects under 20 lbs.
  • Occasional travel by auto, air, or train which may require walking distances, lifting and
  • carrying luggage and boxes (>25bs), and prolonged periods of sitting in tight quarters.
  • Constant computer work that may require repetitive motion, prolonged periods of sitting
  • or standing, and sustained visual and mental applications and demands.

The starting salary range is $90,000 to $108,000 annually.
