The New York Independent System Operator (NYISO) manages the efficient flow of electricity on more than 11,000 circuit-miles of high-voltage transmission lines, dispatching power from hundreds of generating units across the state. The NYISO’s Market Structures department invites applications for a full-time Market Solutions Engineer in our Technology Development group.
The Market Solutions Engineer has primary responsibility for developing and maintaining resources adequacy models for performing a variety of power system security and adequacy analyses as required to inform stakeholders on the changes needed to support NYISO’s future resource adequacy needs. The position will perform long term reliability needs assessments of resource adequacy and transmission security using software tools and applicable reliability criteria.
Please note that this position will be filled at the level (i.e., Associate Engineer, Engineer, or Senior Engineer) appropriate with the candidates experience and qualifications.
