The Leadership Division of the Aspen Institute builds off its 70-year history of developing leaders across generations and place to become more effective, values-based leaders. Today, the Leadership Division supports the lifelong development of leaders through its (1) signature seminar offerings, (2) the Aspen Global Leadership Network (AGLN) and (3) Weave: The Social Fabric Project.

About This Role
The Leadership Division’s marketing and communications team is seeking an intern for a 3-month internship helping with media production, design, and storytelling. Acting as an internal agency for our leadership programs, the Marketing and Communications team produces a wide range of multimedia products to help bring the concept of values-based leadership alive. The intern will be a critical part in our content production and promotion efforts.

Responsibilities include:

  • Creating multimedia content in support of our leadership programs including blog posts, social media graphics, video clips, and audiograms
  • Supporting production of the Aspen Global Leadership Network’s LIMINAL podcast including research, booking, and transcript management
  • Assisting with the production of email newsletters, event promotions pages, and virtual event logistics, and virtual event post-production
  • Assisting with social media editorial for Leadership Division and its programs including the Aspen Global Leadership Network, Executive Seminars, and Weave: the Social Fabric Project by drafting content for Instagram, Twitter, Facebook, and LinkedIn
  • Updating websites and coordinating with program teams for content
  • Assist with social and digital analytics reports

Job Requirements

  • Current or recent college/graduate student or other professional
  • Experience with multimedia production
  • Proficient in Adobe multimedia tools, Canva, or other design software
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Excellent writing, editing, and proofreading skills
  • Ability to prioritize competing tasks
  • Entrepreneurial or self-starter attitude
  • Excellent cultural competence and experience working directly with constituents from diverse racial, ethnic, socio-economic, and geographic backgrounds

Start Date: April 24, 2023, to conclude late summer

Location: DC or remote

Hours: Part-time, 20-30 hours per week (negotiable)

Paid/Unpaid: Paid $16.00 - $17.00 per hour
