Material Handler (Forklift)

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

• Receives, stores and distributes materials and equipment.
• Maintains inventory levels of supplies.
• Safely operates hand trucks, forklifts, hoists, conveyors, or other handling equipment to move material to and within the factory.
• Reads production schedule, work orders, and requests to determine items to be staged at various machines within the department
• Conveys materials and items within individual departments as well as from one department to another
• Sorts and places materials or items on racks, shelves, or in bins according to predetermined sequence, such as: size, type, style, color, or product code
• Fills requisitions, work orders, or requests for materials, tools, or other stock items and distributes items to production workers or assembly line
• Use supply chain and automated inventory software
• Marks materials with identifying information
• Records amounts of materials or items received or distributed
• Contributes to accurate records
• Works under close supervision of Leads/Supervisors or other team members

Required Skills & Experience:

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred
• Entry Level
• Able to follow instructions, written and verbal
• Follow all safety practices
• Able to work in a manufacturing environment including the physical demands of the job
• Able to lift 75 pounds
• Able to stand for 8+ hours in order to accomplish work tasks
• Able to use the tools and processes for the role
• Requires good manual dexterity (hand, arm, and multi-limb coordination)
• Able to work overtime as scheduled

Work Environment:

• While performing the duties of this job, the Team Member may be exposed to noise, wood products, plastics, lubricants moving mechanical parts and vibration.

Physical Demands:

• While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk and hear. This position is very active and requires standing, walking, bending, kneeling, stooping, crouching, crawling and climbing.
• The employee must frequently lift and/or move items over 75 pounds.
• Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.

Language Skills:

• Must be able to communicate effectively and maintain a professional level of interaction with all members of the company to deliver accurate information.
