MATERIAL HANDLER DUTIES

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS OF THE JOB:

Keep stock out of Cutting Department and Packout. Keep stock pushed up in the Glue Room. Do not clutter Glue Room with partial skids of stock. Keep empty skids cleaned out from Glue machines for safety and appearance. Keep skids in Cutting and Packout, check so they don’t run out. When leaving a department, look and see if something needs to go to another department before leaving. Keep Warehouse floors clean of paper and board and sweep the West Warehouse. Keep rows straight, neatly stacked and two feet from the wall. Anything in the plant that needs to be moved with a forklift is your job. Before going on break, check machines to see if they need stock pushed up. If skids are low, help stack off the stock and push up the load. In your spare time, straighten rows of stock in the warehouse. Set down Cello film so the operators can get to it. Keep small stack of skids on both sides of #1 Flexo and in front of #3 Cutter. Help boxmaker with cases when he does not have a lot of time. Make sure next driver has fuel for at least two hours of work. When going to fuel the lift truck, check and see if any bad skids need to be taken outside on the way. Check with glue room Supervisor for next job before they run out. Unload roll paper & stock machines. Inventory roll paper.
