AAM is seeking a Material Planner/Scheduler to join the team at our large powder metal facility in Ridgway, PA.
- The Material Planner will be monitoring production and controlling the procurement of raw material, including scheduling, and managing customer shipments from a number of suppliers. Using AAM's innovative systems, the materials team helps ensure a smooth production plan by maintaining optimal levels of raw materials by interacting and maintaining relationships with trading partners to achieve inventory targets. Processing supplier forecasts to ensure alignment with production planning and forecasting is also a key responsibility for this position.
The ideal candidate will have experience in material planning within an automotive manufacturing environment.
Job Description
Manage customer weekly and daily ship requirements and window times; communicate with production and shipping departments. Proactively react to changes.
Responsible for raw material replenishment to ensure production coverage
Use system reports from Plex and Oracle to support daily and weekly operations
Help coordinate and communicate daily production build requirements to satisfy customer demand and maintain inventory targets
Review and maintain supplier forecasts on a weekly basis; maintain accumulated quantities.
Communicate proactively with trading partners
Expedite inbound and outbound material by identifying problems and resolutions
Regularly maintain pull loop size based on the PFEP strategy (Plan for every Part) recommendations
Monitor and update the PFEP collection plans for accuracy
Proactively elevate critical supply and delivery issues to management.
- Use the supplier scorecard to initiate internal operational improvements and troubleshoot poor performing suppliers
Maintain inventory targets while continuing smooth operations
Responsible to follow safe practices
Occasional need to support 2nd and 3rd shifts.
Required Skills and Education
Completed Bachelor's Degree in Supply Chain or combination of relevant education and experience
Professional experience in supply chain and materials planning
Automotive Manufacturing experience preferred
