Requires license in multiple states (FL, NY, OK, TX). Obtain the permanent license within the time specified under local law or six (6) months, whichever is shorter.
Position Summary:
Under general supervision reviews and audits estimates from independent appraiser companies to ensure accuracy. Reviews requests from other insurers for reimbursement of monies paid out for collisions involving Company insureds. Evaluates and assesses vehicle damages.
Essential Job Functions:
- Evaluate and assess damage through the Photo Based Estimating process; from the submission of photos provided by vehicle owners and body shops; Create estimates based on assessment.
- Review, audit and approve estimates from independent appraisal companies for accuracy and industry accepted repair standards; Work with independent appraisal company if discrepancies found.
- Review of Subrogation packages (estimates, invoices, photos and salvage disposal) from claimant carriers for accuracy; Make updates if discrepancies found; Provide estimate based on packages; Identify information in connection with cost analysis for subrograted claims for cost savings opportunities.
- Regular attendance at work on a full-time schedule of at least 8 hours and 40 hours per week.

Education:
- High school diploma required
- 2 years undergraduate coursework or formal technical training preferred
- I-Car (Inter-Industry Conference on Auto Collision Repair) and ASE (Automotive Service Execellence) certifications a plus preferred
Or equivalent combination of education and/or experience
Experience:
- 2-5 years minimum experience in automobile appraisal required
Or equivalent combination of education and/or experience
Knowledge and Skills:
- Strong knowledge of collision related auto repairs and estimating
- Experience creating computerized appraisals using Mitchell, CCC, and Audatex estimating platforms
- Effective communication skills to manage relationships with internal and external customers/vendors
- Proficient using Microsoft Excel, Word, etc.
