Mechanical Engineering Intern

Base Pay Range: $23.40 - $43.20 per hour based on pursuit of a Bachelor’s, Master’s, or Ph.D.

Job Description/Preferred Qualifications

Core Responsibilities:

• Support engineering activities related to creation and testing of prototype systems. This includes the design, test, check-out, modification, and assembly of prototype modules and systems

• Troubleshooting, correcting, reworking and maintaining test fixtures and prototype systems

• Perform tests, fault isolation and feedback root causes of issues on engineering designs

• Assist in the design, construction, test and check-down of production test equipment

Qualifications:

• Attending courses with a Mechanical Engineering Curriculum.

  • Study in Optics or Spectrophotometry is helpful, but not required.

  • Study in Micro-fluidics and Precision Fluidic Dispense technologies is helpful, but not required

• Ability to read mechanical drawings, block-diagram level schematics, assemble prototypes, execute tests and record results.

• Experience with Word, Excel, Powerpoint to write procedures and document test results

• Work within Mechanical CAD environment

• Excellent verbal and written communication skills and proven ability to work in a team.
