Actuarial Analyst

This position has the option to work fully remote throughout the U.S. We are interested in Actuarial Analysts/Actuaries that have health insurance experience.Founded in 1934, Medical Mutual is the oldest and one of the largest health insurance companies based in Ohio. Proposes premiums that achieve company goals. Works under minimal supervision.ResponsibilitiesActuarial Analyst III, IV, Associate Actuary, & Actuary• Estimates future claims.• Estimates current claims (reserving: estimate unpaid claim liabilities).• Analyzes historical experience.• Reviews appropriateness of rating factors by plan, area, network, etc.• Proposes premiums that achieve company goals.• Forecasts the future.• Loads and tests premiums.• Performs ad hoc analyses as needed.• Performs other duties as assigned.QualificationsActuarial Analyst IIIEducation and Experience• Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration or related field.• 3 years experience in health actuarial work required; 4 years preferred.• 1 year of experience in Medicare Advantage or Medicare Supplement if assigned to Medicare area.Professional Certification(s)• Has passed 4 courses and is on track to attain the Associate of the Society of Actuaries (ASA) designation.Technical Skills and Knowledge• Intermediate MS Office Skills, including MS Access.Actuarial Analyst IVEducation and Experience• Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration or related field.• 4 years experience in health actuarial work required; 5 years preferred.• 2 years of experience in Medicare Advantage or Medicare Supplement if assigned to the Medicare area.Professional Certification(s)• Has passed 5 courses and is on track to attain the Associate of the Society of Actuarials (ASA) designation.Technical Skills and Knowledge• Intermediate MS Office Skills, including MS Access.Associate ActuaryEducation and Experience• Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration or related field required.• Master's Degree in Business Administration or related field preferred.• 5 years experience in health actuarial work required.Professional Certification(s)• Associate of the Society of Actuaries (ASA)• Member American Academy of Actuaries (MAAA)• Completed 7 Actuarial CoursesTechnical Skills and Knowledge• Intermediate MS Office Skills, including MS Access.ActuaryEducation and Experience• Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration or related field required.• Master's Degree in Business Administration or related field preferred.• 6 years experience in health actuarial work required.Professional Certification(s)• Fellow of the Society of Actuaries (FSA)• Member of the American Academy of Actuaries (MAAA)• Completed all 9 Actuarial CoursesTechnical Skills and Knowledge• Intermediate MS Office Skills, including MS Access.Medical Mutual is looking to grow our team!
