See the videos below this job description for a look inside our diverse workforce.We are currently seeking an Associate Buyer/Planner (Operations Planner) for our Medtronic North Haven Site with strong indirect leadership/peer influencing skills and a passion to problem solve using lean/scientific methodologies.Medtronic is intensely focused on creating a workplace environment which reflects our standing as the world’s top medical device company. The ideal candidate will have a passion for the patients we serve and an unrelenting desire to improve our business by driving supply chain solutions.Do meaningful work, make a difference, and improve lives — starting with your own!Responsibilities may include the following and other duties may be assigned.• Sources, purchases, plans, and schedules the movement of raw materials, packaging materials, parts, components, services, supplies, finished goods, and related material through production and inventory process.• Identifies raw material, component, and related requirements from engineering and production specifications and schedules.• In front-end procurement mode, analyzes data and determines factors that affect prices and determines lowest cost consistent with quality, reliability, and ability to meet required schedules.• Coordinates and follows up with production, warehouse, and engineering personnel to ensure appropriate procurement, scheduling, and movement of materials and services.• Compiles information to keep informed on price trends and manufacturing processes.• May monitor performance of suppliers and collaborate on demand analysis planning.Must Have: Minimum Requirements• Bachelors degree required• Minimum of 0 years of relevant experienceNice to Have• Experience working with MRP/ERP systems (strong preference or QAD and SAP)• Proficient in Microsoft Office (including Excel, Word, Access, Outlook, etc.) or similar software.• Strong data analysis, data management, and quantitative skills• Excellent communication skills (both oral and written), team orientation, and ability to negotiate towards positive outcomes.• Strong organizational skills and good understanding of team dynamics.• Must be detail-oriented, with ability to connect the detail to higher level goals.• Ability to identify patterns.• Working knowledge of quality system requirements and good manufacturing practices.• Experience working in a regulated environment (i.e., medical device, pharmaceutical)• APICS and/or CPM Certification Cost accounting understanding/experience• Understanding of contracts (supply, services, non-disclosures, etc.)• Lean/Six Sigma Green Belt (or comparable training)Physical Job RequirementsThe above statements are intended to describe the general nature and level of work being performed by employees assigned to this position, but they are not an exhaustive list of all the required responsibilities and skills of this position. The physical demands described within the Responsibilities section of this job description are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. PR) locations (USD):54,400 - 81, 600The base salary range is applicable across the United States, excluding Puerto Rico and specific locations in California. The offered rate complies with federal and local regulations and may vary based on factors such as experience, certification/education, market conditions, and location.
