This global role provides the opportunity to identify and execute value-driven strategies across many functions, regions, and businesses. These strategies will leverage Medtronic's global scale to drive year-over-year value within the MRO space. In this role, you will partner with the center-led business engagement teams to implement pan-Medtronic strategies globally.The opportunities to create value within this ~$500M category are limitless, and we are seeking a candidate who thrives on building new opportunities every day to learn and make a difference. The ideal candidate will have a demonstrated history of quickly building and leveraging relationships in a matrixed environment, working collaboratively to ensure team performance, and successfully influencing a variety of stakeholders at all levels.A Day in the LifeAs the Principal Strategic Sourcing Specialist-MRO, you will:• Identify strategies across subcategories of the MRO supplies portfolio that utilize multiple levers/approaches to drive value.• Work independently and build strategic relationships with internal stakeholders and suppliers.• Engage and influence multiple stakeholders to adopt and implement strategies developed by the category team; Medtronic is a highly matrixed organization, and having the ability to influence and leverage the matrix is a key requirement.• Develop and implement sourcing strategies that result in a sustainable competitive advantage.• Gather Market Intelligence and trends for relevant categories and associated subcategories.• Achieve (year-on-year) value improvements for all quality, service, innovation, and cost aspects.• Perform RF(x) events to drive competitive pressure and ensure maximum value is realized.• Partner closely with key functions that support supply management (e.g., legal, finance, quality/compliance).• Assist in Supplier Stratification activities and develop capability roadmaps.• Lead contract negotiations.• Recommend solutions to business problems and/or identify opportunities for improvement, and present ideas to leadership.• Educate on key indirect supply management initiatives and policies.• Develop robust data gathering and data quality maintenance protocols to ensure spend transparency and support the development of a baseline for sourcing cost reduction efforts.• Identify insourcing and outsourcing opportunities.• Establish and support a work environment of continuous improvementMust Have: Minimum Requirements• Bachelors degree required• Minimum of 7 years of relevant Sourcing, Supply Chain, manufacturing, or equivalent experience, or advanced degree with a minimum of 5 years of Sourcing, Supply Chain, manufacturing, or equivalent relevant experienceNice to Have• Demonstrated experience in building and executing successful category strategies in the MRO/Operations space• Highly proficient in Excel, PowerPoint, Power BI• Demonstrated leadership, customer service, problem-solving, communication, negotiation, tact, judgment, and organizational skills• Demonstrated strength in analytical skills• Global Category Management experience (Strategy Development and Execution following Strategic Sourcing methodology)• Knowledge of working in FDA-regulated industries• Ability to partner with and influence internal technical experts• Ability to influence teams and external suppliers to deliver results• Strong program management skills• Solid business and legal acumenPhysical Job RequirementsThe above statements are intended to describe the general nature and level of work being performed by employees assigned to this position, but they are not an exhaustive list of all the required responsibilities and skills of this position.The physical demands described within the Responsibilities section of this job description are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. PR) locations (USD):$104,800.00 - $157,200.00This position is eligible for a short-term incentive called the Medtronic Incentive Plan (MIP).The base salary range is applicable across the United States, excluding Puerto Rico and specific locations in California. The offered rate complies with federal and local regulations and may vary based on factors such as experience, certification/education, market conditions, and location.
