Our goal is to expand access to our therapies so we can help potentially millions of people get their lives back.A Day in the LifeThe work related to the RF RA specialist is entirely related to compliance with wireless communication regulations and wireless standards. The position collaborates across functional teams to ensure product wireless compliance with the Federal Communications Commission (FCC) and global regulations for wireless technologies (Anatel, RED IFETEL, etc...). The individual team player must be able to comprehend and interpret global RF Regulations and vulgarize their requirements as he partners with R&D to ensure compliance within the product design cycle and ensure regulatory testing outcomes.The position of RF Regulatory Specialist requires a diverse set of people and technical skills and is self-driven in solving complex compliance issues within sets of hard and soft design requirements.Responsibilities may include the following and other duties may be assigned.• Interpret and understand the wireless regulations and standards to support the R&D and geo expansion team in addressing the requirements.• Work with suppliers, local agents, or regulatory affairs specialists to secure wireless compliance.• Stay updated on the latest wireless global regulations and best practices.• Participate in the Medtronic Radio Working Group to share and stay connected with the latest changes in the regulations or standards.• Interpret regulations from different spectrum management authorities.• Provide technical expertise and support resolutions for regulatory compliance issues and testing (in-country travel might be required)Must Have: Minimum Requirements• Bachelor's degree in an Engineering field, Telecommunications, Physics, Electrical, Software or equivalent required• Minimum of 7 years of experience in RF electrical engineering, RF type Approval testing, EMC Type testing, and SAR/EMF, or advanced degree with a minimum of 5 years experienceNice to Have• Master of Science in Electrical Engineering, Telecommunications, Electrical, Physics, Software or equivalent• Experience in wireless Type Approval/Compliance, specifically with FCC regulations, RED 2014/53/EU, CMIIT, ANATEL, IFETEL, ENACOM, and electrical safety-related compliance such as CCC and NOM. Experience with 5G, LTE, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, NFC, Inductive Power Transfer.• Effective communication skills, with the ability to work in complex cross-functional teams.• Experience managing Type Approval projects and working directly with certification bodies such as TCBs, OCDs, and Notified Bodies.• Relevant experience in Type Approvals and Type Testing in wireless RF regulatory compliance is desirable.• Strong ability to interpret and apply regulatory requirements to ensure compliance.• Self-driven and focused individual with interpersonal skills and strong collaborator.About MedtronicTogether, we can change healthcare worldwide.
