It’s an exciting time to join our Retail team which has undergone a significant change in how we work to adopt new modern ways of working. Committed to making energy cleaner and cheaper for Aotearoa New Zealand, our Retail structure is made up of a network of empowered teams, united by a shared purpose and clear goals, equipped with the skills and capabilities to deliver value to customers end to end.

Reporting to the Retail Strategy & Performance Lead, the Performance Data Analyst plays a crucial role in transforming data into actionable insights that drive our Retail business’s performance. This role is responsible for delivering accurate and timely business reporting, enabling the organisation to understand its strategic objectives and performance metrics. The role has a dedicated focus on modelling retail energy products and their impact on sustainability and carbon targets, which includes promptly generating accurate carbon and affordability reports that reflect our business performance and strategic initiatives.

In this role you will utilise your data analytics expertise to interpret data and provide insights that inform strategic decisions, bringing the Retail strategy to life, and fostering a culture of data-driven decision-making and assessing strategic partnering opportunities. You’ll also seek out opportunities to leverage data to improve processes, automate manual tasks, and create business efficiencies.

We are seeking a data analyst with expertise in retail energy products, and carbon and affordability reporting, with a strong ability to form independent opinions and recommendations based on data insights. The preferred candidate will also have experience in modelling impacts of sustainability products, preferably within an energy market, and must have Flux and AXOS energy platform experience.

With excellent communication and moderate to advanced proficiency in SAS, Power Platform, including Power BI, PowerApps and power automate, and Excel for data manipulation and visualization, you’ll excel at presenting complex data in an engaging and understandable way, tailored to the audience.

You’ll bring a high level of accuracy and attention to detail in data analysis and reporting, coupled with a keen eye for identifying opportunities for improvement and growth within data sets. The ability to thrive in an agile environment, demonstrating adaptability to evolving priorities and effective collaboration across diverse teams, is key to our new way of working.
