Meta is seeking a highly motivated privacy attorney to join a growing team of go-to legal counsel for privacy area teams in the Product Compliance & Privacy Org (PCP). We drive the development and execution of scalable solutions for all of Meta to comply with new and evolving privacy obligations across the globe.This requires strategic thinking, strong business acumen, and excellent legal judgment. You will need a deep understanding of global privacy laws and a passion for new technology. We are looking for someone who is able to both work independently and collaborate across functions, including Meta’s privacy, product, legal and policy teams.Associate General Counsel, Privacy Responsibilities• Drive development and execution of the company’s strategies to address new and evolving global privacy requirements• Lead on drafting new and updated privacy policies across the full range of Meta’s products• Oversee the privacy policy safeguard life cycle end-to-end• Maintain subject matter expertise in new and evolving areas of global privacy law and regulatory pressures• Develop resources and tools that enable counsel across the company to provide durable and consistent advice on contested privacy issue• Drive high-profile and high-impact projects involving privacy analysis with cross-functional stakeholders across Meta’s business, policy, legal, communications, security, and other departmentsMinimum Qualifications• J.D. degree (or foreign equivalent) and membership in at least one US state bar• 8+ years of legal experience, including at a law firm and/or in-house or government experience• Experience with global privacy laws, regulations, and industry guidelines, especially including those relevant for social media, internet and technology companies• Experience advising on privacy legal risks and mitigations• Experience working on multiple projects at once in a fast-paced environment• Proven problem-solving, communication and interpersonal skills• Proven business judgment and client counseling experience• Experience making decisions in the face of ambiguity and evolving priorities• Highlight that you found this position through GoInhouse.com when applying.Preferred Qualifications• Experience working cross-functionally to advance projects in a multi-stakeholder environment• Business judgment and practical counseling skills• In-house experience with applicable product counseling, compliance, litigation, or regulatory teams• Experience prioritizing work and providing advice under deadlines• Experience with policy development• Experience with understanding innovative technologyFor those who live in or expect to work from California if hired for this position, please click here for additional information.Locations2Use ctrl + scroll to zoom the mapZoom inZoom outRecenterData CenterAbout MetaMeta builds technologies that help people connect, find communities, and grow businesses.
