Manager, Data Science

We are looking for a Data Science Manager to support and manage a team of highly technical data scientists. This role will focus on optimizing sales and marketing in product and will sit on the Business Experience Data Science team. As a Data Science Manager, you will collaborate on a wide array of product and technical problems with a diverse set of cross-functional partners across Product... Engineering, Data Engineering, Sales, Marketing, Finance and others. You will support a team to help increase advertisers’ performance by optimizing sales and marketing in product. You will influence advertiser guidance strategy and product development through sales and marketing integration. You will be focused on impact, drive decisions with data and collaborate with other teams. The ideal candidate for this position is a versatile data scientist leader that excels in supporting data scientists focused on machine learning, causal inference, data visualization, data analysis, and writing code. Manager, Data Science Responsibilities: • Support and manage a team of highly competent data scientists • Optimize sales and marketing in product by leading the guidance unification & integration • Develop systems & strategies to integrate, measure and track ads guidance in sales and marketing • Improve overall effectiveness of product, sales and marketing guidance • Work closely with product, sales, marketing and other cross-functions to drive direct impact on Meta ads guidance strategy • Communicate results and illustrate suggestions in effective ways to stakeholders and partners • Build different processes and routines to increase effectiveness and quality • Frequently switch between on-the-ground tactical execution and 30k foot strategy • Advocate for all businesses to ensure that ads guidance are designed with businesses of all shapes and sizes in mind to drive advertiser value Minimum Qualifications: • Bachelor's degree (or higher) in an analytical field (such as Mathematics, Statistics, Computer Science, Engineering, Economics, Finance, etc) • 8+ years experience in analytics • 2+ years of demonstrated people management experience coaching and developing team members • Experience in working with large datasets and using SQL or similar tools for data extraction and manipulation • Experience with data visualization tools such as Matplotlib, Seaborn, Tableau, etc • Experience doing statistical analysis (e.g. regression, probability) using tools such as Python, R, MATLAB, SPSS, SAS, Stata, etc • Direct experience independently scoping and executing projects with clients and or cross-functional stakeholders • Experience communicating complex concepts to non-technical audiences Preferred Qualifications: • Experience with digital advertising measurement methods and technologies • Understanding of current media landscape and challenges small business advertisers face • Knowledge of dynamics and structure for product, sales & marketing teams • Advanced degree in an analytical field (such as Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, Statistics, Physics, Economics, Finance, etc) About Meta: Meta builds technologies that help people connect, find communities, and grow businesses.
