What we offer:

  • $1000 sign on bonus after six months working for Timken.
  • Starting Pay: $20/hr
  • Top Pay: $24.75/hr
  • Shift Opening: Night shift 7pm-7am
  • Shift Differential: $0.35 for working night shift

Purpose & Scope:

Performs metallurgical checks for hardness and case depth, sets up and calibrates various gauges, and performs visual and dimensional inspections throughout the plant.


Core Functions:

  • Follow all safety rules and regulations.
  • Responsible for quality and quantity of work produced in assigned production area.
  • Follows the directions/instructions of the team leader and/or supervisor.
  • Checks material for hardness using hardness tester or hand file.
  • Grinds and polishes samples using grinding wheels, belt sander, polishing paper, and bench-type buffing equipment.
  • Sets up and calibrates automatic gauging equipment and individual gauges.
  • Troubleshoots gauges, gauging equipment, and machine parts for cause of improper operation using indicators, micrometers, and hand tools.
  • Inspects various materials in process visually for defects.
  • Occasionally make minor repairs and adjustments to gauging equipment, electronic and mechanical gauges, and machine parts.

General Qualifications & Experience:

  • High School Diploma/GED required.
  • Must be eligible to work in the U.S
  • Technical or mechanical background preferred.
  • Basic mathematical and mechanical skills are required.
  • Strong attention to detail along with ability to multi-task.
  • Proven record of reliable attendance, strong work ethic, and team skills.
  • 2 years of work experience in a manufacturing environment or related education preferred.
  • Ability to lift to 35 pounds or more.

Physical Requirements:

  • Verbal and written communication
  • Activities such as lifting or pushing/pulling
  • Activities where repetitive movement is required.

Environmental Conditions:

  • May be exposed to environmental noise and/or seasonal heat.

Safety Requirements: Safety glasses (prescribed or non-prescribed), safety shoes and hearing protection are required on site.
