Job Title: Ultrasound Technician (Sonographer) 
Location: Escondido or Fallbrook 
Salary Range: $35.00 - $50.00
 
 
Job Summary: We are seeking a skilled and compassionate Ultrasound Technician to join our healthcare team. The ideal candidate will have experience in operating ultrasound equipment to capture images that assist physicians in diagnosing medical conditions. This role requires a detail-oriented individual with strong technical skills, a dedication to patient care, and the ability to communicate effectively with both patients and healthcare professionals. 
 
Key Responsibilities: 
  • Perform diagnostic ultrasound examinations on patients to capture detailed images of internal organs, tissues, and blood flow for use by physicians in diagnosing conditions. 
  • Prepare and position patients for imaging procedures, explaining the procedure, and ensuring comfort throughout. 
  • Operate ultrasound equipment effectively, adjusting controls and positioning the patient to obtain optimal images. 
  • Analyze and document the images obtained, noting any abnormalities or concerns and relaying findings to the interpreting physician. 
  • Maintain patient records and update electronic health records (EHR) with accurate information. 
  • Follow established protocols for infection control, patient safety, and equipment maintenance. 
  • Collaborate with physicians, nurses, and other healthcare staff to ensure high-quality patient care. 
  • Stay current on advancements in ultrasound technology and best practices through continuing education and training. 
Qualifications: 
  • Associate's or Bachelor’s degree in Diagnostic Medical Sonography or a related field preferred. 
  • Certification by the American Registry for Diagnostic Medical Sonography (ARDMS) or similar accredited certifying body. 
  • Valid state licensure to practice as an Ultrasound Technician (if required by state regulations). 
  • Minimum of 1 year experience in ultrasound imaging, preferably in a clinical or hospital setting preferred 
  • Strong knowledge of ultrasound physics, anatomy, and diagnostic procedures. 
  • Proficiency with electronic health record (EHR) systems. 
  • Excellent interpersonal skills to provide compassionate care and comfort to patients. 
  • Strong attention to detail and the ability to work independently or within a team. 
 
Preferred Skills: 
  • Experience in multiple ultrasound specialties (e.g., OB/GYN, abdominal, vascular, cardiac). 
  • Familiarity with quality assurance protocols for imaging and equipment maintenance.
