Mid-Rise Residential Leader

Role Introduction

As our Mid-Rise Residential Leader, you will support and lead the design efforts for the market in partnership with studio leadership. You will be working in our Community Environments (CE) Market, whereby joining you’ll have the unique opportunity to design and deliver healthy, thriving mixed-use communities. Every day you will contribute to the development and implementation of best practices for business development, project management, and design services for the market. To thrive you much have experience in mid-rise residential and establish credentials in the architectural industry.

What your day will look like:

  • Act as the Market Leader for the Mid-Rise Residential Market as well as ambassador for the firm
  • Lead the advancement of firm business and design efforts in partnership with studio leadership
  • Develop and expand client opportunities and enhance relationships
  • Establish new relationships with prospective clients
  • Develop personal leadership participation and visibility externally in the residential market on behalf of MG2
  • Play critical role in successful completion and advancement of the market’s strategic goals and business plans
  • Serve in role of Architect of Record as assigned by firm practice leadership
  • Own risk management for studio by demonstrating strong understanding of contractual risks and successful negotiation tactics for firm’s interests
  • Secure contracts, financial performance of team, and payment for work performed
  • Contribute to the development and implementation of best practices for business development, project management, and design services for the market
  • Drive economic success of studio while balancing appropriate staff levels based on revenue demands
  • Develop strong working relationships with firmwide leadership teams
  • Exemplify professional leadership, firm values, and practice excellence
  • Lead, mentor, and grow the studio’s project managers, project architects, and project staff
  • Ensures the team is positively motivated, continually developed, and appropriately retained by promoting corporate culture and team cohesion
  • Builds followership

We're looking for someone who:

  • 20+ years of experience, with the majority of experience in mid-rise residential projects
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Architecture, Interior Design, or Equivalent
  • Established credentials in the industry, regarded as an industry design leader
  • Current architectural registration
  • Proven ability to build a team and effectively lead and advocate for others
  • Ability to serve as a positive influence who inspires and motivates
  • Ability to hand sketch and work well with clients to graphically express ideas and solutions
  • Strong business and management acumen
  • Proven ability to balance business performance with architectural delivery
  • Demonstrated project and client leadership
  • Proven ownership of client or account acquisition and leadership
  • Demonstrated business leadership expertise in architectural practice, account, and market
  • Portfolio of built work in the mid-rise residential market
  • Ability to bring in and close new business
  • Strong connections in mid-rise residential
  • Ability to travel

National Salary Ranges:

  • Associate Principal (Minimum 15 years of Architecture experience, domestic experience preferred): $135,000 - $179,500
  • Principal (Minimum 20 years of Architecture experience, domestic experience preferred): $160,000 - $190,000

If position is eligible for remote status, ranges may be adjusted. Acknowledging the time employees typically spend in the role, compensation is dependent on applicable years of experience and skillset.
