Military Construction (MILCON) Project Management Associate

General Summary:

Under limited direction, the Military Construction (MILCON) Project Management Associate will provide operational support to IT and Operational Technology (OT) projects and take over some dedicated Project Management (PM) or Product Technical Management (PTM) tasks. Associate will be a member of a critical function within the AMC Project Management team supporting people, process, and MILCON Information Technology/Operational Technology in alignment to business goals. The associate will be performing duties in direct support of project, program, and portfolio management including data entry, documentation, analysis, reporting, and developing recommendations. The associate will be a member of a highly-collaborative and fast-paced team that is intensely focused on using IT/OT. Requires Task Management and system analysis/analytical and evaluative methods: including techniques concerning the efficiency and effectiveness of program operations to include attention to detail; customer service; oral communication; and problem solving.

Principal Duties and Responsibilities (*Essential functions)

  • Develops and interprets policies in specific program areas and provides leadership, coordination, and authoritative advice to top officials in the development of cooperative relationships, resulting in the formulation and execution of progressive and comprehensive programs that meet Army goals and objectives
  • Tracks program requirements of major issues, including program goals, objectives, work processes, and administrative operations of the organization using law regulations and policies through a project life cycle
  • Directs, administers, and evaluates programs, policies, and procedures in the required program areas
  • Revises Project Management Plans and best business practices as required
  • Maintains a good relationship with customer(s) and on-site staff ensuring responsiveness to both
  • Coordinates and assists with project transition and phase in tasks
  • Periodically confers with on-site project personnel and supervisors to ensure technical questions are being resolved
  • Follows QA procedures to ensure quality control performed by others is properly implemented throughout projects
  • Conducts in-depth analysis of complex Excel spreadsheets
  • Develops project schedules to include milestones
  • Ensures project budgetary goals are being met
  • Writes detailed daily reports pertaining to job milestones
  • Coordinates project work internally within the department and externally with other departments to ensure all projects are completed on time

Required Skills

Required Experience
  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience
  • Minimum of 7-9 years work related experience
  • Active SECRET Security Clearance
  • Ability to clearly present and communicate technical approaches and findings
  • Proficient using MS Office applications and Project
  • Ability to troubleshoot and resolve issues
  • Ability to act independently and to coordinate the work of other employees and contractors
  • Demonstrated background in technology and engineering functions and the ability to envision the future and constantly evolve the organization's capabilities to support customers

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience reviewing and validating Information Technology and Operational Technology requirements
  • Experience supporting Army or other Department of Defense organizations
  • Experience leading Integrated Product Team (IPT) Meetings and Program Management Reviews (PMR)s
