Feel free to check us out at http://www.mindlance.com.Job DescriptionTitle: Medical editor/writerLocation: New York CityDuration: 3 Months contract to hireJob Description:MedscapeTV editors will develop story boards for each sponsored TV show,including an outline for 6 episodes per TV show. He/she will researchthe topic and identify experts to develop the content, then coordinatethe on-site TV shoot, and work with video editors to produce the finalTV shows. Additional work will include developing supporting materialsfor the landing page and assuring that all required assets are providedto production.Serve as editorial producer of multi-episode videodocumentaries across a range of medical specialties for a physicianaudience. The position encompasses a variety of pre-production,production, and post-production responsibilities.Pre-production responsibilities include researching potentially newsworthy topics in agiven medical condition, identification of key medical expertsappropriate to those topics to be interviewed for video documentaryseries, outlining content to be covered in each episode for the series,conducting pre-production phone interviews of patients and physicians tohone topics to be covered in live shoot, working with a productionmanager to schedule interviews of all individuals to be interviewedduring a given shoot.Production responsibilities involve on-siteinterviews with physicians and patients, on-site teamwork with theproduction crew to capture all needed footage, including occasionallyimpromptu interviews of medical staff.Post-production responsibilities include providing video editors with papercuts oftranscripts from video shoots that detail the precise sequence of sound bites and B-roll choices for each episode of the series, working with video editors and Medscape TV executive editor to hone the final version of each episode.While the position requires a level ofindependence, all phases of work on a documentary series are subject tooversight by the executive director and input from editorial directors,as needed.Appropriate work experience: 10 years' experience inmedical publishing (preferably text and video content) aimed atphysician audiences across a number of medical specialties, proven trackrecord in creating narrative video documentaries on medical topicsaimed at a medical audience.Required SkillsA journalism background is preferred, as well as experience in developingcontent for a medical professional audience.
