Engineering Technologist, Supplier Quality Assurance

We are looking to add an Engineering Technologist, Supplier Quality Assurance to our SQA team in Vancouver CA.   Reporting to the Director, Operations and Quality, the Engineering Technologist, Supplier Quality Assurance is responsible for managing supplier materials, working with suppliers to identify root causes, and implementing effective countermeasures in line with Minesense procedures and engineering requirements. This position will undertake a proactive approach with both internal stakeholders and suppliers to improve the quality of their products. 


Job Responsibilities:
  • Support supplier quality performance report for designated suppliers. 
  • Establish strongSupplier relationship management to address all non-conformance issues and implementation of continuous improvement initiatives to drive overall quality and delivery performance. 
  • Process supplier certificates ensuring that the correct certificates are delivered with the product. 
  • Manage the supplier non-conformances to ensure that corrective action is taken, suppliers are notified, and actions recorded in our Minesense system. 
  • Escalate any potential quality issues to the Quality & Supply Chain teamsin a timely manner, ensuring that effective countermeasures can be jointly agreed and implemented  
  • Support Quality in reducing the cost of poor quality within all aspects of supply chain activity. 
  • Support supply chain to ensure that costs are recovered from suppliers where it has been established that the supplier is at fault. 
  • Provide insights and updates at internal meetings and project reviews when reviewing overall quality requirements. 
  • Help audit Suppliers as deemed necessary to ensure that we build a reputable and first-class supply chain aligned to the expectation of the business going forward. 
  • Maintain and develop quality procedures and work instructions. 
  • Assist with problem solving àroot cause analysis àcorrective actions. 


Qualifications:
  • Technician or technologist diploma in mechanical, electrical or relevant discipline and a minimum of 2-4 years of related experience in a product development, manufacturing or servicing environment. 
  • Proven experience within a similar Supplier Quality orientated role. 
  • Experience in using Core Quality Tools 
  • Demonstrated mechanical and electrical assembly capability. 
  • Ability to read and understand mechanical part and assembly drawings. 
  • Ability to read and understand electrical schematics, wiring diagrams and systems. 
  • Able to identify and use basic hand tools and multimeters. 
  • Proficient in using a PC for running tests, reporting and recording results. 
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with proven ability to work independently as well as in a team environment. 
  • Must be able to work with demanding deadlines and changing priorities. 
  • Ability to communicate in English, knowledge of Spanish is an asset. 
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills. 
  • Experience working in Microsoft 365. 
  • Health & Safety conscious individual. 
  • Legally able to work in Canada. 


$68,820 - $73,460 a year

The salary offered to the successful candidate will be based on their experience, knowledge and skills they bring to MineSense, market data based on their location as well as internal equity. Keeping this mind, the salary offered can be outside of the range posted.
