This position is located at Waters Edge in Roseville. The incumbent may have the flexibility to work in the office or a hybrid schedule. The incumbent will be required to report onsite at least once/month but may be required to work onsite more depending on business needs. If working a hybrid schedule, the incumbent will be required to make a telework arrangement with their supervisor. • The Minnesota Department of Transportation does not sponsor applicants for work visas or Optional Practical Training Extensions for STEM Students. Individuals must be legally authorized to work in the US at the start of employment. This position will co-lead the MnDOT Metro District Project Management Group and provide project management responsibilities for projects or tasks ranging from Moderate Projects to Major Projects for the Metropolitan District. The responsibilities of this position include the management of the quality of the products produced, organization of a project management team, providing leadership for the team to ensure the completion of the products or tasks, managing the risk associated with each project, coordination with the project team to minimize risk and/or manage the risk, management of the scope of the project and the process to change the scope, manage the process to resolve disputes, and manage the financial aspects of the projects or tasks. The successful candidate will manage both internal and external communications specific to the project or task. This position will be responsible for multiple projects at one time as well as provide direction, supervision, and leadership to the Metro Project Management Group. The responsibilities of this position include the management of the quality of the products produced, organization of a project management team, providing leadership for the team to ensure the completion of the products or tasks, managing the risk associated with each project, coordination with the project team to minimize risk and/or manage the risk, management of the scope of the project and the process to change the scope, manage the process to resolve disputes, and manage the financial aspects of the projects or tasks. The successful candidate will manage both internal and external communications specific to the project or task. This position will be responsible for multiple projects at one time as well as provide direction, supervision, and leadership to the Metro Project Management Group. Minimum Qualifications • Applicants must be licensed as a professional Civil Engineer with the Minnesota Board of Architecture, Engineering, Land Surveying, Landscape Architecture, Geoscience and Interior Design or be able to obtain licensure through reciprocity. Comity (Reciprocity). (If obtaining licensure through Comity, a temporary permit from AELSLAGID must be provided to MnDOT HR prior to starting employment.) • Five (5) years of post-registration experience of which three (3) years must be at the Engineer Principal level or equivalent. • A Project Management Professional (PMP) certification can substitute for 6 months of the required Engineer Principal experience. • A valid Class D Driver’s License with no major traffic convictions in the past 5 years; OR 4 or more minor violations in the last 3 years; OR any combination of minor violations and at-fault accidents totaling 4 or more occurrences. If you meet the Minimum Qualifications, areas in order to be considered further in the selection process, please provide a written summary with examples of your experience and knowledge in the following areas (please add them to the end of your resume): • Direct and manage project development for all phases of program delivery including scoping, pre-design, final design, and construction. • Project management principles, practices, techniques and tools. • Critical path scheduling theory and applications, and scheduling software such as Artemis Project View (APV) or Primavera P6. • Experience successfully managing contracts and project resources within scope and budget; managing the use and payment of employee overtime; and monitoring project costs. • Leadership and interpersonal skills needed to resolve issues, influence and persuade others, get group consensus, and negotiate resolutions; demonstrated ability to know when to compromise and when to pursue a specific course of action.
