ADMINISTRATIVE ASSISTANT 2, UNDERGRADUATE RESEARCH OPPORTUNITIES PROGRAM (UROP), Office of Experiential Learning (OEL), to perform comprehensive, complex, and diverse administrative duties across all dimensions of UROP. Will support daily administrative functions and ensure first-rate service and support to UROP constituencies (students, faculty, administrators); anticipate upcoming projects, meetings, and deadlines; handle reception for UROP and function as support on multiple UR-related initiatives; and provide direct administrative support to senior associate dean and director, OEL. Responsibilities include acting as UROP’s first point of contact and a key source of information regarding UROP for students, faculty, staff, and the public; staying informed on Institute policies, regulations, and guidance impacting UROP; supporting implementation of programming supporting undergraduate researchers and their mentors; assisting with event logistics presentations; providing general administrative support to the OEL director, including calendar/scheduling and meeting logistics; supporting OEL-related projects as needed; supporting UROP application processing; database maintenance and troubleshooting; and UROP operating account reconciliation and processing of expenditures.
Job Requirements
REQUIRED: high school diploma or its equivalent; three years’ administrative, office, or related experience; excellent organizational, interpersonal, collaboration, and written and oral communication skills; experience working independently and as part of a team; advanced-level computer skills, including proficiency with Microsoft Office, online collaboration tools (e.g., Slack and Zoom), Google Workspace, and Dropbox; and willingness to assume responsibility and be flexible in a fast-paced, highly fluid environment. Seek a self-starter who is comfortable with a hybrid schedule and can multitask, juggle competing priorities, and manage workload with minimal supervision. PREFERRED: bachelor’s degree; MIT experience; knowledge of MIT SAP, Buy2Pay, Concur, and other MIT accounting and purchasing systems; and familiarity with/willingness to learn general content editing in WordPress. Hiring range: $26.00 - 31.00 hour
A hybrid schedule, with both remote and on-campus work, is available.
