HR Manager

MO helps government leaders achieve their mission by designing intuitive and sustainable customer and employee experiences that build trust and improve satisfaction. We use human-centered design and agile development to modernize and transform CX and EX. We’re a small team of interdisciplinary creatives (program/project/product managers, designers, and engineers) with mission, impact, and service to others deeply rooted in our DNA. We’re naive enough to believe we can change the world and bold enough to take the chance to do it.

We combine design thinking with agile delivery methods to deliver visionary, human-centered products to market. Our custom solutions range in size from completely revamping an entire application to refreshing small pieces of a larger product. Everyone at MO directly impacts the direction and success of the company, and we own our roles. We value integrity, curiosity, and courage, and we operate collaboratively and with accountability while consistently challenging each other in the pursuit of excellence. At MO, we delight in creating one-of-a-kind products and experiences. Your imagination is the only limit on what you can do here!

Are you looking to make an impact? We are a fast-growing organization seeking a dynamic HR Manager to join our team. This role requires a passionate professional who understands the vital importance of HR customer service, prioritizing people, creating a positive EX for MO employees, and delivering a proactive compliant HR organization. As the HR Manager, you will report directly to the Financial Controller, who will oversee major decisions, while you will have the autonomy to shape and lead an HR department that adapts to our constantly evolving needs. Your expertise will be crucial in ensuring that our HR practices are not only effective but also foster a supportive and people-first culture.

What You'll Do:
  • EX Lifecycle:
  • Be responsible for the EX lifecycle while collaborating with leaders across MO to address pain points in the employee journey (e.g., planning and posting, application review, interviews, hire, onboard, engage, perform, develop, depart).
  •   Use EX lifecycle to drive HR modernization and continuous improvement at MO, identifying and prioritizing pain points in the employee journey and partnering with Executive Leadership Team to tackle issues and strategic priorities.

  • HR Relationship with TriNet:
  • Own and manage the relationship with TriNet, ensuring optimal service and support.
  • Transition the organization away from PEO services, implementing state tax assistance.

  • HR Policies and Processes:
  • Own all HR policies and processes, ensuring they are up-to-date and in compliance with federal and state regulations.
  • Create new policies as needed to maintain compliance and support the evolving needs of the organization.

  • Compliance:
  • Ensure proactive compliance with federal and state regulations.
  • Assist in state tax compliance once the organization moves away from PEO.

  • People-First Approach:
  • Put people first in all HR activities, fostering a positive and inclusive workplace culture.
  • Be the face of HR to MO, the go-to person for any HR issues for our rapidly growing organization.

  • Effective Communication:
  • Communicate effectively with all levels of the organization.
  • Maintain a positive attitude and provide excellent customer service (i.e., employee experiences).

  • Customer Experience:
  • Provide outstanding HR support to employees, reflecting our commitment to excellent customer service.
  • Address and resolve employee concerns with empathy and efficiency.

  • Perform, Develop and Depart:
  • Enable performance management across MO aligned with our current performance management strategy (e.g., quarterly talent assessments, semi-annual reviews, promotions, rewards, etc.).
  • Partner with leaders from across the organization to develop people and when necessary move to departure.
  • Be the responsible HR leader that helps managers manage departures in empathetic, efficient and compliant approaches.

  • Recruiting:
  • Develop and implement effective recruiting strategies to attract top talent.
  • Manage the full recruitment life cycle from job posting to onboarding—helping MO hit their target hiring KPIs.

What We're Looking For:
  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • At least 6 years of experience in a human-first HR role.
  • Strong understanding of HR principles, compliance, and best practices.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fully remote, multi-state organization.
  • Demonstrated commitment to maintaining a positive and inclusive workplace culture.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Detail-oriented with a commitment to accuracy.
  • Ability to work independently and take ownership of responsibilities.
  • Strong organizational and time-management skills.
  • Adaptable and able to thrive in a fast-paced environment.
  • Continuous learner with a proactive approach to professional development.

Perks
  • A fun, dynamic working environment with an energetic and diverse team
  • A REMOTE first work environment
  • An inclusive culture where everyone is welcome
  • Competitive compensation commensurate with experience
  • Opportunities for career growth- leading to developing your own HR/Recruiting team
  • Significant portion of medical, dental and vision covered by employer
  • 401K plan unlimited Paid Time Off (PTO)
  • Short- and Long-Term Disability in addition to Life Insurance (company sponsored)

$80,000 - $95,000 a year
In support of the  Colorado Equal Pay Transparency Act, and others like it across the country, MO job descriptions feature the starting range we reasonably expect to pay to candidates who would join our team with little to no need for training on the responsibilities we've outlined above. Actual compensation is influenced by a wide range of factors including but not limited to skill set, level of experience, and responsibility.

This application will remain open July 22, 2024.

All MO leaders are expected to lead with humility, embody our core values in their leadership, and to hold their team accountable to the same. MO leaders are expected to ensure we are always growing by tackling hard problems, being strategic, and learning from others.

We value diversity and inclusion and encourage all interested candidates to apply. If you have more experience beyond what is detailed here, we’d be happy to take a look. If you meet most but not all of the requirements, we still want to hear from you.
