Occupational Health Nurse Location: Janesville, WI How You Will Make an Impact? The Occupational Health Nurse will provide cost effective nursing services and programs to treat and improve the health and wellness of the Team Members and reduce incidents within the facilities. Position will be based out of Janesville, WI with remote responsibility for several other regional manufacturing/service facilities. Occasional travel required.
The Nuts and Bolts Conduct on-site treatment of injuries and evaluate physical condition of patient Contact physician and hospital to arrange for further medical treatment, when needed. Counsel Team Members of injury prevention and health care. Maintain record of patients treated and participate in accident investigations as needed. Develop proactive health programs, such as health education (wellness), accident prevention, alcohol/drug abuse counseling, curtailment of smoking, flu shots, and weight control regimens. Co-leader of Morgan Medical Team including training of Morgan First Responders and standardization of equipment and supplies. Participate in auditing of third party care givers across the footprint of Morgan. Work with Morgan WC Claims Specialist as needed for claims Management. Maintain Health Center and First aid supplies. Collect data on work related injuries/illnesses and work with EHS Manager to determine root cause. Manage medical surveillance programs (respirator, physical, audiometric, etc.). Maintain current FA/CPR/AED certification. Graduate from the Morgan First Responder Course within 6 months of hire. Maintain Morgan First Responder status and meet all monthly and annual standards. Support and participate in Morgan EHS team efforts. Adhere to Quality policy by exceeding customer expectations, being customer focused and supporting continuous improvement activities. Adhere to EHS policies and practices 100% of the time. Other duties as assigned Required Credentials - Emergency Medical care and/or Pre-hospital experience
- Must possess Registered Nurse licensing
- Computer literate: Microsoft Word, Excel, etc.
- 5 to 7 years practical nursing experience
- Knowledge of OSHA standards and injury/illness reporting
- Excellent communication (verbal and written) and inter-personal skills
You Must Be Able to The performance of this position will require exposure to the manufacturing areas where the use of personal protective equipment such as safety glasses with side shields and hearing protection is required. Primary environment: ambient room temperatures, lighting and traditional office equipment as found in a typical office environment. May require walking, primarily on a level surface, for periods throughout the day. Lifting up to 35 pounds using ergonomic techniques may occasionally be required.
Travel for coverage of other plants as needed.
