Before starting Motion, I was a software engineer at WhatsApp and Facebook, where I saw small teams achieve incredible impact and learned how tech companies operate at scale. At McKinsey, I learned about operational best practices, and in the world of quantitative trading, I helped build a trading desk from scratch, evaluating and hiring top talent in a highly competitive field. All of these experiences have shown me what world-class operations look like, and I brought this knowledge to Motion with the goal of creating a truly exceptional team.

Over the past few years at Motion, I’ve worn many hats—from coding to building our data science and analytics stack to growing our marketing and support teams. What I am most proud of is building a talented, cohesive team from the ground up. This role is crucial to ensuring that as Motion grows, we stay organized and effective.

The People Operations Coordinator will be my partner in making sure our scaling journey is smooth. You’ll help us manage the details that keep our operations tight, enabling us to maintain momentum without sacrificing our standards or culture. The Role

As a People Operations Coordinator at Motion, you’ll be instrumental in supporting our employees through thoughtful coordination and planning. This role will focus on logistics and events that help drive our company culture, such as offsites, onboarding bootcamps, and team hacker houses. You’ll ensure that every detail is accounted for—from booking flights to scheduling onboarding events—creating a smooth and positive experience for everyone. This is an exciting opportunity to help shape every employee’s experience at Motion.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate and manage logistics for company events, including offsites, new hire bootcamps, and team hacker houses

• Book flights, accommodations, conference rooms, and other necessary resources to facilitate seamless travel and event experiences

• Oversee the onboarding process by scheduling and managing onboarding calendar events for new hires

• Arrange for shipping and ordering of necessary equipment and supplies, including laptops, company swag, and anniversary tokens

• Maintain and update records related to events, purchases, and equipment allocations

What We’re Looking For

• 2-4 years of experience in People Operations, HR, or event coordination, ideally within a fast-paced startup or SaaS environment

• Strong project management skills, with a demonstrated ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously

• Detail-oriented, highly organized, and able to manage logistics with ease

• Strong communication skills and ability to work well with both internal and external stakeholders

• Ability to work independently, proactively solving challenges as they arise.
