We're looking for a team member who has significant professional experience as a frontend software engineer in a TypeScript and React codebase, has worked to implement tests in Playwright or a similar e2e automation framework, is renowned for their attention to detail, and exhibits an ownership mindset. As the first automation-focused frontend engineer on our team, you will play a crucial role in establishing the foundations of our testing code base while being immersed in a culture dedicated to growth, learning, and advancement. We are seeking someone who is highly coachable, able to make sound decisions in the face of ambiguity, and takes full ownership of their work. Your contributions will be instrumental in ensuring the quality and reliability of our products from the ground up.
Implement and maintain automated test scripts using TypeScript and Playwright to ensure comprehensive coverage of our web application
Collaborate with other software engineers, product managers, and the manual QA team to understand requirements and identify test scenarios
Investigate and analyze test failures, report and discuss them with the team, and promptly update the code as needed so that the tests again pass and fail when they should
Continuously improve and optimize our test automation framework, focusing on reliability, scalability, and efficiency
4+ years of overall professional software engineering experience
2+ years of professional experience writing TypeScript and React code for production web applications
1+ years of experience designing and implementing webapp e2e tests using Playwright, Cypress, or Selenium
Excellent problem-solving skills and meticulous attention to detail
A proactive and collaborative approach, with the ability to work independently and as part of a team
Strong written and verbal English communication skills, with the ability to articulate complex technical concepts to both technical and non-technical stakeholders
