Openpath's access control solution makes businesses more secure with multi-factor authentication, enables a contactless entry experience and can be easily scaled and managed due to its cloud-based architecture.Job DescriptionWe are seeking a senior-level candidate who can help us build, scale, and innovate as we develop our industry-leading platform for access control and office automation. Strong analytical and software skills are a must to join our team, and we are particularly seeking candidates with experience and skills in multiple technologies, to contribute broadly to our team-centric approach to product development.Responsibilities:Develop features for and maintain Openpath's user-facing apps with React NativeDevelop NodeJS APIs and backend services for mobile featuresDevelop and mature our video experience with webRTC on mobileWrite unit tests, automated UI tests and execute test cases to ensure the quality of the productWork with product management and leadership to assist with prioritizing efforts for each sprintCollaborate and communicate effectively with other engineering team membersMaintain high bar in the apps for stability, security, user experience, and accessibilityImprove build/test automation tooling, dependencies, and best practices as necessaryWork with product + engineering team to guide overall system architecture + design, particularly to help ensure that operational needs (deployment, maintainability, monitoring, troubleshooting) are accounted forWork with Product Management and leadership to assist with prioritizing efforts for each sprintContribute as other skills allow within our fast-paced environment and evolving product portfolioHelp with care and feeding of our products + services - take a holistic view of how our architecture functions in production, share responsibility for the quality and reliability of the entire systemQualifications:Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering or a related discipline is preferredDeep experience in mobile development using React Native7+ years of software development experience5+ years of experience with JavaScript development, and preferably with NodeJS API frameworks3+ years of experience with React and/or React Native developmentExperience with video and webRTC a big plusExperience with SQL data stores and designing relational data modelsExperience with building backend REST API services for mobile applicationsFamiliarity with deploying and maintaining software services within public cloud environments, particularly AWS services such as Serverless/Lambda, CloudFormation, Elastic Beanstalk, EC2/VPCs, Docker, DynamoDB, RDS, CloudWatch / other monitoring servicesPrefer experience with log/data analysis pipelines and crash tools (Sentry)Knowledge of Linux fundamentals including bash / command-lineExperience with agile methodologies and rapid iteration cyclesThe base salary range for this position in California is $160,000 - $190,000 depending on experience.#LI-CA1#LI-REMOTEBasic RequirementsBachelor's Degree4+ years of experience developing in JavaScript, Node.js, or similar technologyLegal authorization to work in the U.S. indefinitely is required.
