Emerging Tech is looking for a Sr. Manager who will be responsible for a team of backend and web frontend engineers to deliver on the high visibility Sparky initiative. Work closely with Product and Business to ideate and deliver on new features for the Walmart Shopping Assistant, Sparky. Provide technical guidance and mentorship to the engineers on the team.
About Team:
Walmarts Emerging Technology Team is a group of innovators and technologists who are responsible for exploring and developing new technologies that can enhance the shopping experience for customers and improve the efficiency of Walmarts operations. The team focuses on identifying and evaluating emerging technologies that have the potential to transform the retail industry, such as artificial intelligence, machine learning, computer vision, and more.
What you'll do:
Work closely with Product and Business to ideate and deliver on new features for the Walmart Shopping Assistant, Sparky. Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior engineers.Participate in Architecture and RCA reviews and provide feedback and guidance.Participate in the larger Emerging Tech technical discussions and help foster a deep Engineering culture.
What you'll bring:
10-15 years of working as a backend/full stack engineer. Experience with Java.
Experience managing a team of 5-10 engineers. Experience working with LLM based applications and architectures. Understanding of Web architectures and frameworks.
