Quality Assurance (QA) Tester

We are looking for a Quality Assurance (QA) Analyst responsible for ensuring the quality of software deliverables throughout the Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC). This role involves creating and executing test plans, test cases, and test results to verify that software releases meet user requirements and are defect-free. The QA Analyst will collaborate with business analysts, developers, and stakeholders to ensure that software systems perform as expected and adhere to business and technical requirements.

Functional Testing:

• Collaborate with Business Analysts and development teams to review and clarify functional and non-functional requirements.

• Lead the execution of functional, integration, regression, and user acceptance testing activities.

• Write clear, concise, and comprehensive test plans and test cases to ensure complete test coverage.

• Estimate, prioritize, and plan testing activities to align with project timelines and deliverables.

• Develop and maintain manual test suites and test cases, ensuring comprehensive test data is generated.

• Perform thorough regression testing and validate defect fixes.

• Document and report issues clearly and thoroughly, working with product teams to track and resolve defects.

• Provide 24x7 on-call support for production systems as required.

Technical Testing:

• Recommend and implement test automation tools and approaches to enhance testing efficiency.

• Design, develop, and execute automation scripts to streamline testing processes.

• Write moderately complex SQL queries to validate test results and analyze issues.

• Ensure test cases are executed to verify that all aspects of the application work as intended.

• Demonstrate proficiency in HTML, JavaScript, and related web technologies to support testing efforts.

Leadership and Strategic Contributions:

• Advocate for and promote testing best practices within the organization.

• Establish and govern testing-related standards, processes, and guidelines to ensure consistency and quality.

• Research and introduce new testing tools, strategies, and methodologies to improve testing effectiveness.

• Mentor junior team members and promote continuous improvement in QA practices.

• Contribute to the development and adoption of new technologies, testing frameworks, and automation solutions.

Metrics and Reporting:

• Track, analyze, and report on quality assurance metrics such as defect densities and open defect counts.

• Provide clear, actionable insights based on testing results to stakeholders and the development team.

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, MIS, Business Administration, or a related field.

• 2 years as a QA Analyst or in a related role.

• Strong verbal and written communication, with the ability to efficiently report on testing metrics, progress, and issues.

• Flexible to changing priorities and able to manage multiple projects effectively.

• Able to work independently and in a team, with strong interpersonal and problem-solving skills. Can influence others, drive results, and train testing resources.

• Passionate about quality with a focus on continuous improvement.

• Extensive experience with Jira, Test Release Planning, Subject7/Automation Platform, Test Case Management, PBI Dashboard, and APIs (analyzing documentation).

• Proficient in Front End (UI) and Back End (API Endpoints/Database) testing.
