NASA Federal Credit Union is in search of a Member Sales and Service Specialist (MSSS) to maximize lending and sales opportunities with members who apply for credit. The MSSS will develop and maintain a thorough knowledge of new account and lending processes, from application thru closing, and works hard to ensure funding rates are maximized. This position will also demonstrate proficiency with sales and loan interviewing techniques.
Job Duties and Responsibilities- Seeks to take full advantage of lending and sales opportunities with members who apply for credit.
- Remains cognizant of and adheres to Credit Union policies and procedures, and regulations pertaining to the Bank Secrecy Act.
- Develops and maintains a thorough knowledge of the Credit Union’s policies and procedures for Consumer Lending and New Account Origination.
- Assists members in completing loan applications over the phone, video conference and/or electronically.
- Ensures accuracy and timeliness in all loan related member communications.
- Ensures accuracy, timeliness, and completeness of data input for the speedy processing and funding of loans.
- Maintains a high level of understanding on consumer products and features to identify, review, and promote appropriate products to members.
- Interviews consumer loan applicants and provides information on consumer loan products that best meet the member’s needs. Requests, reviews, and delivers all appropriate documentation to the loan underwriter.
- Actively looks for opportunities to increase loan volume as well as new accounts and ancillary products and services. Identifies cross-sell opportunities through meaningful conversations and analysis of credit bureau reports.
- Possesses effective working knowledge of the Credit Union’s core processing system, new account and loan origination system and CRM program.
- Opens accounts, submits loan applications, and disburses loans.
- Advises members regarding available insurance protection (life, disability, gap, etc.).
- Assists Loan Underwriters in facilitating loan closings (coordinate tracking of documents and/or information).
- Identifies and solves problems, analyzes, and interprets data, credit reports, and member authentication reports.
- Processes a variety of financial transactions on member accounts including funds transfers, withdrawals, stop payments, loan payments, check orders, and issues cashier’s checks and share certificates. May also process daily department mail.
- Provides efficient and responsive service to members by maintaining an acceptable level of productivity as measured by established production metrics. Actively strives to achieve any assigned goals for loans, deposits, and services.
- Utilizes keyboard, ten-key, and computer navigation skills to access multiple systems at the same time while typing and conversing with a member.
- Assists with the maintenance of department procedures and/or documents. Monitors and updates department metrics and critical measures.
- Performs Account Quality Control.
Qualifications- A minimum of two years of Credit Union/Bank and/or Call Center experience (preferably financial institution) performing the majority of duties listed in the MSSS job description. Experience with direct consumer outbound sales may be substituted for financial experience. College degree and/or certification in financial counseling a plus.
$15 - $15 an hour
$15 per hour plus commissions
