Respiratory Therapist-Certified - Days

Nashville General Hospital is hiring a Respiratory Therapist-Certified - Days 
   
The staff therapist is responsible for providing and performing both basic and advanced therapeutic procedures.
As a Respiratory Therapist-Certified, you will:  
  • Patient care: Interview and examine patients with breathing or cardiopulmonary disorders.
  • Diagnostic tests: Perform diagnostic tests, such as pulmonary function tests, to assess lung capacity.
  • Treatment plans: Consult with physicians to develop treatment plans.
  • Treatments: Treat patients using a variety of methods, such as aerosol medications, chest physiotherapy, and inhalants.
  • Patient education: Teach patients how to take medications and use equipment.
  • Equipment management: Manage equipment and devices needed to help people who can't breathe normally on their own.
  • Patient progress: Monitor and record patients' progress.
  • Discharge planning: Work with other members of the medical team to complete discharge planning. 
 
Required Skills & Qualifications:  
  • Prefer a high school diploma or equivalent and be a graduate of a Respiratory Care program accredited by the Committee on Accreditation Respiratory Care or having passed a National Board Respiratory Care Exam or its equivalent.
  • Current Licensure as a Certified Respiratory Therapist, Basic Life Support, ACLS and Neonatal Resuscitation Program
  • Previous respiratory therapy experience preferred.
