Our Culture of Inclusion and Belonging

By continually educating ourselves and engaging in meaningful conversation, we take action. Action leads to change. And change is necessary for us to advance, together. Our focus for change remains on creating a culture of inclusion and belonging – for all.

We collaborate with our community to continually seek training and education to ensure we are always doing more to understand the importance of diversity, equity, and inclusion. Some of our initiatives include:

Education, Training, and Initiatives:

Unconscious Bias

  • Help colleagues recognize and understand the impact of unconscious bias, identify the connection between personal background, perceptions, and how to apply new strategies for practicing more conscious awareness in the workplace.

Racism - A Public Health Crisis

  • Increase leaders understanding of systemic racism and improve their capacity to lead more inclusively.
  • More than 500 executive leaders have participated in initiatives.

Cultural Proficiency: Our Journey to Health Equity

  • Equips colleagues with knowledge and tools focused on improving health outcomes and increasing patient satisfaction.
  • Over 10,000 colleagues have completed the training to date.

Advancing Together

  • Provides monthly educational opportunities for all colleagues to become more engaged with and learn more about our commitment to address systemic racism.

The More You Know

  • The More You Know digital education series recognizes and celebrates the many cultures, religions, and communities that represent Trinity Health's richly diverse population.

Colleague Resource Groups (CRGs)

  • CRGs empower our colleagues' unique strengths, views, and experiences to impact innovation, colleague engagement, and community outreach efforts.
  • Colleagues have the opportunity to enhance cultural awareness, develop leadership skills, and network across all levels.
  • We offer more than 23 unique CRGs and have 500 active colleagues involved.

Additionally, our DEI strategy operationalizes our core values and helps advance our Mission through five critical priorities for continued focused execution and success.

  • Diversity in Governance
  • Diversity in Talent
  • Building an inclusive and culturally welcoming environment
  • Elimination of health disparities
  • Supplier diversity
