It’s how we constantly and continuously push innovation and strive to create a better future for everyone.Job PurposeLocation: North Andover, MAUnion: IBEW 326Pay: $21.45National Grid is currently seeking temporary Metering Services Representative /collectors to assist with workload on a temporary basis in the North Andover area.Key Accountabilities• All meter reading activities including but not limited to:• Shut off meters as trained and qualified.• Field collection activity including but not limited to:• Terminating service and/or collecting customer payments.• General shop work (e.g. Housekeeping, junking, shipping, deliveries/pickups, etc.)• Assist in 2-person assignments as needed.• Driving is a significant portion of the workday in various-sized company vehicles.• May be required to handle substances considered hazardous under the U.S. Emergency Planning and Community Right to Know Law or the Massachusetts Right to Know Law.• Interact with internal departments and company employees to ensure an efficient overall process.• Promote a culture of teamwork, collaboration, and efficient resource utilization, both throughout the department and project teams.• Will also be expected to respond to emergency call out and work extended and planned hours when company emergencies occur.• Other duties as assigned.Qualifications• Must have a high school education or the equivalent.• Must have good mechanical aptitude and ability, high degree of dependability, and capable of exercising good judgment.• Must have the ability to perform physically demanding job-related activities.• Must be able to work a flexible schedule including shifts, weekends, evenings, and holidays.• In a work day, must be able to climb 25-2500 stairs, walk 2 to 6 miles and kneel or bend for 20-60 percent of the day.• Must be able to work within confined areas at times and in inclement weather and temperature extremes.• Must possess the ability to develop positive customer relations; anticipate, identify, respond to customer needs and facilitate customer loyalty.• Able to drive a company car / large van or truck on a daily basis.• Must have valid and clean driver's license and be an approved driver of Company vehicles.• Must pass Company physical and qualifying tests to enter Department• Successfully pass a criminal background check, medical/drug screening and required job assessment tests.More InformationPlease be advised that due to the nature of this position, incumbents are subject to federal Drug & Alcohol safety regulations governing US Department of Transportation ("DOT") covered positions, including the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration (FMCSA) and Pipeline Hazardous Material Safety Administration (PHMSA).
