We partner with volunteers to accomplish our work. Staff members engage volunteers through effective and timely communications, facilitating meaningful opportunities, and continually seeking and providing feedback for reciprocal growth and learning.The Development Manager, Peer-to-Peer Outbound is responsible for supporting the Walk MS and Bike MS campaigns through interim market-level support of the Society's peer-to-peer fundraising efforts. This role is responsible for boosting participant activity and increasing revenue through 2-way communication methods with team captains, participants, and/or corporations. They will also oversee the management of temporary contractors for the Walk MS Outbound team.Reports to the Outbound Director. In addition to personal outreach responsibilities, manages the assignment of outreach for staff (FT and seasonal), produces impact reports, reviews data and assists with hiring of seasonal staff.Essential Functions / Responsibility and % of TimeImplement campaign strategies to engage, recruit, cultivate, and retain participants for assigned events to achieve fundraising success (More than 80%)• Implement and evaluate the Walk MS Plan in alignment with the Society's operational plan and Outbound Support's operational plan.• Support market and regional teams in outreach opportunities to increase event revenue through major campaigns, challenges, and promotions.• Provide strategic recommendations on warm transfers upon portfolio transition back to local market team.• Assist in the day-to-day communication, planning, and evaluation efforts for recruitment, cultivation, and stewardship of event participants.• Provide additional support to the Society's peer-to-peer fundraising properties, including (but not limited to): Bike MS, Climb to the Top, and more.• Coaches, develops, and supervises temporary staff responsible for executing the operational plan (when applicable).• Leverage mission related resources to engage participants during the year and motivate increased fundraising.• Travel as needed to Society events and meetings, including weekend and evening functions.• Maintain accurate outreach records utilizing development's standard tools and resources.• Collaborates with staff team members across multiple markets and at all levels.• Other duties as assigned.Facilitates Volunteer Engagement for fundraising and event experience in local market. (approx. 10%)• Engage volunteers through meaningful and impactful work that is well defined and structured by employing strategies, tools and resources in their local market.• Identify, develop, and grow volunteer capacity (skills and talents) to achieve measurable and sustainable results while removing obstacles.• Cultivates volunteers, seeks, and provides feedback and shares opportunities for reciprocal growth and learning.• Collaborates with key staff to maximize engagement and results of committees to increase outreach, acquisition and awareness.• Encourage volunteer involvement on the part of constituents to enhance the efforts and expand their engagement with the Society.Minimum Education:• BA/BS (or 5+ years of related experience in lieu of a degree)Minimum Experience:• 3-5 years of related experience, preferably in non-profit fundraising, events, or volunteer management• Ability to manage multiple priorities and build strong relationships.• Must be a strong team player• Professional demeanor; excellent written and verbal communication skills• Commitment to the mission, vision, cultural values, and expectations of the National MS SocietyTechnical/Other:• Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite: Word, Excel, Outlook• Experience with Salesforce preferred, but not required.• Competency to work with multiple data systems and tools• This position will be required to drive/travel on Society business. Candidate must possess a valid driver's license, proof of insurance, and reliable transportation. The Society does run motor vehicle checks for all positions which require driving and the applicant must meet the Society guidelines• Comfortability on the phone to warm and cold leadsCompensation and Benefits Info:Estimatedhiringcompensation range for this role is $57,000 - $64,000 annually.
