Trading is one of three critical functions within the credit investment process, along with Portfolio Management and Credit Research.As a key contributor to the Public Corporate Credit team’s efforts, the Senior Investment Analyst - Trading is responsible for supporting all all aspects of the trading function, including trade identification, trade execution, and monitoring within the corporate credit markets, while further developing corporates trading and process experience.Job DescriptionKey Responsibilities:• Assists with the generation of investment ideas, recommendations and asset class investment strategies, customized to client portfolios.• Responsible for executing operational processes for trade order entry and execution and ensure adherence to compliance and risk management policies for credit trading with oversight from senior members of the team.• Provides input into the relative value analysis that includes yield profiles, total return estimates, volatility, risk, structure, sector, and fundamental research across corporate credit securities.• Provides input for identifying emerging investment risks and develop/implement successful risk mitigation actions.• Gathers, analyzes, and communicates asset class market news, data, developments, and insights across corporate credit markets.• Contributes to continuous improvement of asset class investment process.• Prepares materials for the various internal forums intended to keep all stakeholders informed of asset class market developments.• Mentor more junior associates.• Perform ad-hoc projects as needed.May Perform Other Responsibilities As Assigned.Reporting Relationships: Reports to Senior Investment ProfessionalTypical Skills And ExperiencesEducation: Bachelor’s Degree; Advanced degree and/or CFA preferredExperience: 4 to 7 years of related investment experience.Knowledge, Abilities And Skills• Intermediate to advanced skills with Excel and other Office applications• General understanding of technology including databases and other data analysis applications• Proficiency with fixed income analytics applications• Solid understanding of fixed income and financial concepts• Understanding of economics and capital markets• Exceptional analytical, critical thinking, and problem-solving capabilities• High energy, positive attitude, collaborative and team oriented• Composed and decisive under pressure or when challenged• Driven, self-motivated, and intellectually inquisitive• Creative, organized, responsive, and detail oriented• Excellent written and verbal communication skills• Able to build constructive and effective relationshipsOther criteria, including leadership skills, competencies and experiences may take precedence.Staffing exceptions to the above must be approved by the hiring manager’s leader and HR Business Partner.Values: Regularly and consistently demonstrates Nationwide Values.Job ConditionsOvertime Eligibility: Not Eligible (Exempt)Working Conditions: Normal office environment.
