First Look: Audience Development, Newsletter Strategist
Our Audience Development team is seeking a creative and experienced Newsletter Strategist to oversee all aspects of our newsletter strategy across all The Arena Group publication brands. Responsible for strategy and implementation, including subscriber growth, monetization, and new newsletter ideation. Must have a background in audience development and experience in newsletter management, programming, and Ad Operations. Familiarity with AI integrations and emerging digital media trends and marketing trends is a plus.
The Arena Group’s expected annualized base salary range for this position is currently $65,000 - $90,000. Actual salaries will vary based on multiple factors including, but not limited to location, education, experience and other factors permitted by law. The listed salary range is but one component of The Arena Group’s total compensation and benefits available to its employees.

What You’ll Do:
- Content Creation System Management: Oversee systems used for curation and content management (based on content created by our editorial staff) of engaging and accurate content for newsletters.
- Subscriber Growth: Implement strategies to acquire, retain, and engage subscribers.
- Monetization: Identify opportunities and collaborate on revenue generation strategies.
- New Newsletter Ideation: Partner with editorial teams to deliver unique and engaging newsletters for daily, weekly and monthly deliverables while developing strategies to grow new signups across existing and future newsletters across all Arena publishers.
- Curation and Programming: Curate and organize content as provided by the editorial teams.
- Performance Analysis: Monitor metrics and optimize content and distribution strategies.
- Collaboration and Coordination: Work with internal teams to ensure seamless execution.
What You’ll Bring:
- Bachelor's degree in journalism, communications, or related field (or equivalent experience)
- Experience (2-5 years) in audience development strategy roles, preferably with a focus on newsletters or digital media
- Experience with marketing and newsletter growth strategies
- Familiarity with audience development, newsletter curation, programming, and Ad Ops
- Excellent writing and proofreading skills
- Analytical mindset and ability to leverage data insights
- Familiarity with AI integrations and emerging digital media trends
- Strong organizational and project management skills
- Proficiency in newsletter platforms, email marketing tools, and CMS platforms
