Gracenote, a Nielsen Company is the leading provider of entertainment metadata and media recognition technology that powers discovery features for top TV, music, sports and automotive platforms. We have one of the largest Video and Music metadata databases in the world. As a UI/UX Designer, you will have the opportunity to solve customer problems while building great experiences for our internal tools and customer facing applications. You ll work to connect the dots between user insights, solid design patterns, UI/UX best practices, and business goals while collaborating with Product Management, Engineering, Content, and Customer Success teams. You ll be supported and advocate for design alongside a growing UX team of like-minded peers. Skills we are looking for: • Wireframing and UI Prototyping: You are able to independently produce wireframes and prototypes that help you test and iterate your design solutions. You know the appropriate level of fidelity required to maximize insights and minimize your time investment. • Visual Design: You are able to create high fidelity mock-ups that reflect a high degree of expertise and sophistication in the area of aesthetics, typography, color, and iconography. In addition, you are able to contribute meaningfully to design discussions while evaluating and offering constructive critique of work created by other members of the design team. You are able to mentor other team members and are up to date on the latest tools and techniques in visual design. • Interaction Design: You are able to create animations that enhance or inform the interaction between the user and the system or screen. • Information Architecture: You understand how to layer and present information using a visual hierarchy. You are able to provide audits of the Information Architecture of an existing website or application and make suggestions for improvements. • UX Research: You are able to interpret research studies and draw conclusions and/or iterate your design solutions based on their findings. Who you are: • You are fluent in a user-centered design process with the ability to advocate for users, promote user empathy, and think through problems before suggesting solutions. You thrive in an experiment to learn culture and find value in leveraging both quantitative and qualitative data in iterating on your design solutions. • Beyond defending your design decisions, you have the ability to articulate how your design solutions support the organization's overall business goals. • You have effective communication and collaboration skills. You understand the value of cross functional collaboration and can participate, contribute to and co-facilitate workshops, brainstorming sessions and Design Sprints. • You have working knowledge of Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) and how to design for them • You have a passion for trends in data, technology and user interface patterns for web applications • BA or BS degree in User Experience Design, HCI or related fields • At least 5 years of experience as a UI/UX designer or similar role • Proficient in design tools such as Figma and/or Sketch, Zeplin, Miro, Axure, Proto.io Nice to have: • Experience building pattern libraries and design systems • Experience solving problems for B2B customers and designing for Enterprise systems • Agile/Scrum and Jira experience #LI-DG1 ABOUT NIELSEN As the arbiter of truth, Nielsen Global Media fuels the media industry with unbiased, reliable data about what people watch and listen to.
