Position Summary:
The Senior Accountant will support the business by managing the financial aspect of large customer contracts to ensure that the company and the customer are aligned on total contract value and the status of billing. This position will also perform aspects of sales tax compliance for Nortek Air Solutions US entities.
Position Responsibilities:
Monthly and quarterly Sales Tax preparation
Milestone Invoicing/Billing reconciliation and review
Preparation of contract reporting to sales and operational leadership
Prepare various analysis and schedules for external audit as needed
Participate in month-end close process including posting complex journal entries and balance sheet account reconciliation
Prepare annual information tax filings (Form 1099) and industrial property tax returns
Other duties as assigned
Requirements:
The individual shall have a minimum of 5+ years’ experience in general accounting, preferably in a manufacturing environment
Understanding of complex entity structure
Experience with State and Local Taxation, primarily Sales and Use Tax
Familiarity with contract accounting, including revenue recognition and contract review
Strong knowledge of the Accounting Cycle, Journal Entries, Reconciliations
Bachelor’s degree in accounting
Strong analytical skills and attention to detail
Strong abilities to use Microsoft Office tools (Excel, Word)
