It is one of the primary units of Arts NC State within the University College and the Division of Academic and Student Affairs. The Gregg's holdings reflect the wide-ranging curricula of the university, with a permanent collection of more than 54,000 objects, including crafts, applied and decorative arts, industrial design, architectural drawings and works on paper, photography, ceramics, paintings, sculptures, textiles, clothing, furniture, archaeological artifacts, tribal and ethnographic objects, and works by self-taught artists.In addition to maintaining and making this primary resource available for research and teaching, the museum presents six to eight exhibitions each year, accompanied by exciting performances, activities, and educational programs with zero admission fees. The Gregg Museum of Art & Design inspires creativity, innovation, and the expression of ideas by making its collections and activities freely accessible to the university community, as well as surrounding communities in the region.Primary Purpose of Position:The Community Relations and Marketing Coordinator will work closely with the Museum Director on audience engagement by cultivating stakeholders and maintaining marketing tactics for exhibitions, educational initiatives, and programs for the museum's university audiences, patrons, and the general public.The ideal candidate will be passionate about higher education, the arts, and working in a university museum environment. This position is funded by a time-limited grant from the Windgate Foundation with an emphasis on uplifting the Gregg's collection through living artists, community dialogue, outreach, and learning initiatives. The grant term ends in November 2025. The Coordinator reports to the Museum Director.• Work closely with the Museum Director and operations coordinator to support and coordinate community relations by cultivating stakeholders through partnering opportunities, communications, and awareness events. Stakeholders include University student association leaders, donors, community partners, Friends of the Gregg group, and more.• Promote the Gregg as a cultural destination through outreach and networking with media, business and tourism groups, and arts organizations.• Work closely with the Museum Director and Operations Coordinator to advance marketing tactics and coordinate shared roles and responsibilities between DASA Communications and the Gregg's Visitor Services and Student Ambassador Program to generally execute the following:• Museum communications, including social media, website, e-newsletter, press releases, accessibility resources, and coordination with news organizations. This includes photography, graphics, and edit videos for social media and YouTube.• Creative writing and copy editing that highlight the museum and its programs, exhibitions, and donors.• Create and coordinate all print and digital advertisements, including campus billboards, exhibition and calendar posters, and bulk mailings.• Coordinate with publications, radio stations, and other outlets in the area to place ads, and collaboration with the Museum Operations Coordinator to set Annual marketing budget and process advertising contracts and payments.• Work with DASA Communications, Arts NC State, and the museum director to develop and implement a strategic marketing plan to increase museum attendance.• Collaborate with Gregg team members, the Director of Marketing for Arts NC State, and other DASA colleagues, such as the public communication specialist and creative content manager.Required Qualifications:Familiarity with Adobe Creative CloudSuite (especially Photoshop, PremierePro, InDesign, and Illustrator)Preferred Qualifications:2-3 years in community outreach and marketing for a non-profit cultural organization, preferably an art museumRequired license or certification:N/APosition Number: 24SS791AA/EEO Statement:NC State University is an equal opportunity and affirmative action employer.
